What percentages should I use for protein, carbs & fat if I'm eating the Mediterranean Diet? Still only 1200 calories per day.

No specific ones. Why not just adopt that style of eating and track it for a while and see where you come out and then adjust your macros based on that?

The only thing I pay attention to is protein. My goal is 70 grams a day.
The minimum for a sedentary woman is 46 grams a day. So I just make sure I get at least that.
1,200 is extremely low. I would go coo coo. That low sets me up for bingeing. Be careful.

    .

That's interesting @MelaniaTrump as looking at your food diary you often go under or around 1200 or 1300 so you must go coo coo a lot :)

Check out research that's been done on the Mediterranean Diet at the National Institute of Health (NIH). It's a satisfying plan because it allows healthy fats. And peanut butter. And wine. Just saying.....

I've read about 40-20-40 Or maybe even 40 (carb) 17 (protein) 43 (fat) but the fat is mostly olive oil.

Olive oil is a big part of the Mediterranean diet, but also included are nuts, seeds, eggs, fish, cheese, and yogurt. Fat is coming from all of those too.

And this thread is 6 months old, I think OP will have it figured out by now!

I would just like to mention that peanut butter is not a mediterranean food--peanuts don't grow there. Try almonds, walnuts, pistacchio, or hazelnuts. I know the thread is old, but there is interest. I live in the Mediterranean, so naturally eat that way. I have no problem hitting my macros. You can eat a little of almost anything.

I was about to say the same thing. I've been on the mediterranean diet since I was born. It includes a good amount of vitamins and good fats. However, like anything, it matters calorie wise how much you eat even if it is healthy. If that was not the case, I would be skinny right now.

Didn't realize that. I "searched" Mediterranean diet to see if there was a topic on it already and found this one.
