  • I'm wanting to get more into hiking now that I'm in WA. The hiking in Indiana was just sad. :)
  • I honestly don't deal with this much anymore, but... I well-timed "hell no" goes a long way. Or if the situation warrants it, an offended "why would you ask that/say that?" to try to convey the rudeness of the assumption. I try to get people to understand that the assumptions they are making are ignorant at best, and quite…
  • I'm in Vancouver, WA. Was initially looking in Seattle, but found a job in Vancouver first. That one didn't work out, but led to finding a job I love with a company that is very fitness oriented. I am definitely loving it now that I got life stuff back in order. Been starting to go to hiking meetups and such. So much fun.
  • Vancouver, WA :)
  • Hi all! I am 30, no kids, and have permanently blocked the pathway that would lead to me being able to have bio kids. I don't hate kids or anything, and technically had a stepkid for a while, but that's always been more of an aunt type relationship. I am solo, enjoy living alone. No pets (although I am dog sitting this…
  • The ratio is more important than the actual numbers. My numbers are very similar to yours and I had a conversation with my doctor about it. She noted that that although LDL was above the "recommended" level, the high HDL meant she wasn't at all concerned about it.
  • I take magnesium per my neurologist's instruction. I also take B vitamins per my endocrinologist's instruction. Both of which help me feel well enough to track my calorie intake and be more active. Other than that for my specific biology, no. I guess maybe placebo could help? ;)…
  • I really like cold brew plain.
  • If not PMS, ovulation? I get ravenous during both of those times of month.
  • I usually only have 2-3 days where I am ravenous right before my period. And I tend to have a eating pattern that cycles calories anyway. So I'll just eat a ton those few days and then not eat much of anything a few days over the next week. Which works out since I am generally feeling bad and not super hungry during my…
  • It took me a while to figure out the way of eating that works best for me, but I do a sort of mix of 5:2 and 16/8 (really more like 19/5) usually. And throw in some longer fasts every few months. My body just does really well with long-ish periods of not eating due to digestive issues. It really is whatever works best for…
  • When I was 230 lbs (36 BMI), I thought there was no way that I could ever be a normal BMI. Now that I'm down to almost 170 lbs, I know that is BS. I only need to lose another ~15 lbs to get to normal BMI. And there is still plenty of fat on me that I know it is not only possible, but extremely likely that I will get well…
  • My boss has diastasis recti. She did not have it after her first child, but did after her second. Maybe something to look into? Caveat: I have no kids and and know nothing more about this.
  • I track my weight (almost) daily. It has been absolutely fascinating to see the monthly trends. I always gain about 5 lbs the week before and it comes off a couple days into my period. So definitely water weight. I do tend to crave salty carbs more than usual the week before, so I'm sure that has something to do with it.…
  • 5'7 and 178. Anyone feel free to add me as well.
