My reason was because throughout high school I was bullied for my weight and because of that I was depressed and food became a comfort to me. I comfort ate to make myself feel better and gained more weight, which caused more bullying and the cycle continued until I was 19.

I think it's best to leave it and let her do her own thing until she kind of decides to ask you for advice herself. Focusing on yourself right now is the best thing that you can do
