  • Everything everywhere else has said and also, in my humble experience, eating has never made me feel better about anything. I used it as a coping mechanism as well until I really sat down and asked myself was it helping. Spoiler: it wasn't.
  • I'm never going to be a runner. It's just not my cup of tea. That aside, it sounds like you're breathing is a problem. I'm surprised no one else mentioned it, but breathing during running is very important. There are a lot of online resources out there (and books) that can help you with your running and your breathing. I…
  • Bumping this because this is very sensible advice and often overlooked. Things I don't like the taste of - alcohol, coffee, soda, etc. I stopped consuming. I realized drinking alcohol was a social thing for me and I only like fruity mixed drinks where I couldn't taste the liquor. I will still drink on special occasions,…
  • As of this morning's weigh in, I am under 160 lbs. I lied about being 160 lbs on my driver's license almost a decade ago now and never changed it nor ever reached that number. Now I'm under 160 lbs. Under it. This means that I have lost over 50 pounds since I started trying to lose the weight this last time on October…
  • SW: 211 on 10/23 End of Round 12: 161.2 8/11: 160.2 - with today's weigh in, I have now officially lost 50 lbs since I started. 8/12: 159.2 - I ate like crap yesterday. Was within my calories, but next week wanna focus on eating better. 8/13 8/14 8/15 8/16 8/17 8/18 8/19 8/20
  • I'm probably not motivated to eat right or work out most days, but I've made it so routine doing anything else would feel abnormal. Have you considered taking a diet break if you are worn out? Or even slowing your rate of loss?

  • One more tip: I buy stuff as snug as possible. Where I would usually buy stuff a bit looser I buy tighter now because otherwise it won't fit in a few weeks.
  • I just survive on a few basic pieces that I can mix and match and wear over and over again. I have one pair of jeans, one pair of shorts, a few pairs of dress pants, a few tops, and a few dresses. I do feel dresses are more forgiving, but after a while they look sloppy too. I wear things until I just really can't anymore.…
  • OP's exact words were "I am going to do this so that I can love myself", which implies she doesn't already. Maybe she meant she's going to do this so she can love the way she looks, but that's not what she said. I echo other posters. Loving yourself isn't about a number on a scale or the way you look. Being in shape won't…
  • There are places that I wish I could inject fat into and I can only hope and pray I don't lose any more weight from.

  • Starting weight: 211 lbs on 10/23 End of Round 11: 162.2 8/1: 162.6 - I'm tired of being in the 160's. Weight seems to be moving so slow lately. I'm over it. 8/2: 162.2 8/3: 162.4 8/4: 162.6 8/5: 162.2 - I am so ready to drop below this number. It seems my weight is just fluctuating within the same .4 lbs. 8/6: 161.8 8/7:…
  • Yeah, I don't feel like this is the *biggest* deal, but I wouldn't send my kid to a preschool that expected her to be able to make meal choices and then there were options like that.
  • I do this. I have been in the middle of eating something before and just stopped and thrown it away. I wasn't raised to throw away food, but at some point you realize that eating things you don't want or need to eat just because it would be wasteful to throw it away is ridiculous.
  • Chances are if I haven't seen you in a year and you're talking smack about me on the internet we aren't friends.
  • I liked PlayStation Vue when I had it and never had any problems. SlingTV is supposedly comparable, but I've had more than a few drops with it whereas I've never had a drop in service with PlayStation Vue. I was also able to DVR everything and rewind/fast forward whereas with SlingTV there are limitations. Personally, I'm…
  • My SO is extremely fit, but he knows I don't really want or need his advice when it comes to me losing weight or my workout routine. He's content to do his own thing and I'm content to do mine. We support each other (he's cutting right now) though he does think I've lost enough weight now. I would just tell your husband…
  • Thank y'all @quiltingjaine @cyranda63 @wannabesmaller2017 for the support. I know the weight will come off eventually, but man, it's frustrating. I'm 12 lbs or so away from normal BMI now so I know things are going to be a little bit more difficult.

  • Statistics show around 20% of people who lose weight maintain at least 10% of that weight loss. I wouldn't say that's almost all people. But I'm not a big statistics person when it comes to using a small subset of the population in order to make generalizations about the whole population. And yes, studies have shown people…

  • I just used to be one of those people that believed I could diet my way down to x amount of pounds and then I could go back to eating 'normally'. Some of this might have come from me being too restrictive when trying to lose weight in the past. I wouldn't allow myself to drink anything but water, I wouldn't eat sweets, I…
  • You have mentioned several times he's unhappy. Combined with this maybe it's time he saw a doctor not only for his physical health, but his mental health. Also, I hate to even ask, but are you sure he's taking his medication or that it's having the desired effect? Sounds almost like he's depressed and coping with food.
  • Yeah, when I do eat cereal for breakfast I get the Cheerios with protein and usually have Greek yogurt on the side and it's decently filling.
  • Since I started going to the gym regularly last year I really can't stand just laying around doing nothing. I do love reading and I've found I don't really like audiobooks, but if I could read and work out at the same time that would be preferable.
