CICO is not the only answer. I was exercising 5 Xs per week eating only 1250 Cals per day so a 300-600 deficit per day and was gaining Weight on a lean protein whole grain low fat diet. Cancer drugs I am on made me carb resistant. I switched to keto Jan 1 at 20 carbs max 60g protein and the rest fat each day I kept total…

Hi just adding my voice in to this group. I Just finished stage 1 treatment, partial mastectomy radiation and now tomoxifen--how many ways can one trigger hot flashes ;-). I am determined to be a thriver and not just a survivor. It is very hard, however, to lose weight when the drugs make your body fight your efforts. I…

Hi there! I am also recovering from battling cancer since last summer. Mine was Breast cancer. I did swimming to start 1 or 2 days a week. Take it slow and build. I also saw a nutritionist who stressed the importance of high levels of protein to help rebuild the healthy tissue damaged by the treatment -- especially within…

Talk to your doctor. Only women who are 15+ pounds overweight should not gain. But your doctor may recommend a calorie controlled diet that has an increase sufficient to limit weight gain to a healthy amount -- which your doctor should counsel you on -- not us lay folks.

I did nutrisystem years ago and did lose weight. It is very good as a kick start and when you are traveling it is a good take on the road way of sticking to better options than road food. Two things to consider 1)check out the ingredients. Processed soy(isolated soy protein) is not a great thing to ingest as it can mimic…

I am not a doctor, nor I am guessing are most of you. But I, like the initial poster and like so many posters, got stuck at a particular weight even though -- in my case -- I logged everything by weight using a scale religiously and worked out a lot using heart rate monitoring etc to be sure I was in the right zone etc..…

Again I am not saying vinegar caused weight loss. It's part of of complete healthy diet plan supervised by certified nutritionist, dietician, and mds at MCW and Froedert in wisconsin.

singleflutelady I don't know that the inclusion of vinegar is for weight loss. I believe it is more for digestive health, lipid health and antioxidant effects.

I must say that I was completely skeptical when I started all of this (especially the vinegar thing). But was amazed at the success I experienced.

This type of approach is coming from cutting edge medical research at a world renowned academic medical center. As I said, however, this type of program must be geared specifically to each individual. I am not saying anyone should follow my program. I was just giving details to show how increased calories and other…

It is NOT always as simple as calories in calories out. From your picture, weight and height you are very fit. It may be that you are not eating enough calories, not the right kind of calories, or simply not eating them at the right times. Do you know where you are as to BMI? IF you are already below 25 then it might be…

You may want to check out the risks of taking prenatal vitamins when you are not pregnant trying to become pregnant or breastfeeding. Prenatals have too much iron and folate for women outside these categories and not enough calcium. Check the mayo client mic for info
