Pregnancy and counting calories.

So I was wondering if anyone has counted calories while pregnant?I'm not necessarily trying to lose but mainly maintain the weight I am now So I won't have as much to lose after I have the baby. I'm 6 months btw. So anyone please let me know any successful stories

What are your current stats? How much have you gained during your pregnancy so far? And most importantly, have you discussed this with your doctor?0

Yes I have, so that I didn't gain a ridiculous amount of weight. Just know that even with calorie counting, your weight may not reflect how much you are eating. I am due in 3 weeks and in the last month I gained most of my weight (15+ lbs) even while only sticking to 300 calorie surplus. The reason? You can't really control how much water weight you gain/retain. My legs and hands looks like balloons.
Most recommendations I have seen in the US are stick to. 300-500 calorie surplus depending on how much you weigh prior to getting pregnant. I was obese, so tried to stay at the bottom range of that.
Your OB or midwife should be able give you more personalized information.3 -

It depends on how much you weigh prior to getting pregnant. Overweight-obese individuals have now been given the advice not to gain all that much during the first trimester, some guidelines say don't gain anything.
The old wivestale of you are eating for two is extremely outdated. Yes you should be in a surplus, especially in the second and third trimester, but it is not nearly as much as people think.2 -
Talk to your doctor about healthy calorie/ nutrition goals. Your doctor will also be able to tell you if you should be looking to gain, maintain, or, if particularly obese, even lose.0

Talk to your doctor. Only women who are 15+ pounds overweight should not gain. But your doctor may recommend a calorie controlled diet that has an increase sufficient to limit weight gain to a healthy amount -- which your doctor should counsel you on -- not us lay folks.0

Not true. Even those who are obese are recommended to gain about 11-20lbs total.

That's different from my last pregnancy but that was over 13 years ago. Do best thing is ask your doctor !0

Last year I was pregnant. I lost 43 pounds during my pregnancy. My son was born healthy and with zero problems. I've since lost an additional 30 pounds.
You can do CICO while pregnant with zero problems!1 -
I used MFP to limit gain. I was 190 when I got pregnant, and kept my gain to 17lbs.
It's been the postpartum loss that's kicking my a** though. I'm one of the lucky ones who dip in calories even a little and see a dip in breast milk supply. Oh well. Lost the weight before, will again, and I won't be nursing forever!0 -
I used MFP with my last pregnancy and just set my calories to maintenance for the second and third trimester. (Although I still had days/weeks where I ate everything in sight, of course) Gained 23 out of the 25 lbs my midwife wanted me to gain, so it worked well for me.
