There's a really famous Canadian named Steve Nash (basketball): "Nash, who earned NBA Most Valuable Player honours in back-to-back seasons with the Phoenix Suns (2005 and 2006), is an eight-time NBA All-Star and has been named to the All-NBA Team six-times in his career. The 6’3” point guard ranks third on the NBA’s…

How come?

Were you born in Canada?
-
Google gives me a basketball player
-
I thought Tim Hortons was just a Canadian thing, but being on MFP I heard Americans talking about it too. When did that happen?
-
I like Gretzky. Those were the glory days for the Oilers. It was amazing to watch him.
-
Oh! I saw billboards about it, but never checked it out -- now I did and I see it's got those SCTV people on it. Neat!
-
What is your favorite show, if you don't mind me asking?
-
I have it bookmarked.
-
I was intrigued by what you said in bold, because I thought I might agree, but just wasn't sure if I understood you 100%.
-
What do you mean? Example?
-
Ha ha ha! I like that.
-
Well, no, choice 1 wouldn't have been an option because some of those 40 were in the garage, remember?
-
Thank you sir!
-
No, I'm not kidding, but my point wasn't to provide party guidelines. My point is that if guest #34 arrives, is the host going to choose to a) let him into the house or b) send him to the garage? Even a small home is big enough if the heart is big enough.
-
Never said I was. And yeah, I don't.

Ah, so now she's removed the tray and put it into the kitchen, after only a few were taken? And you're taking food from a plate that is in her kitchen? That changes things. I'll also point out that if you're 21/22 and she's a 60-year-old female relative, then she might have seen you grow up. In her mind she might see you…

You state the obvious. Of course not all houses are made the same, sweetie. You provided square footage and style. Post a blue print if you want, but I still won't buy your story, that a host tells the later-arriving guests that they must sit in a cold garage.
-
My house is 1441 square feet. Two stories. That's tons of room. Your story doesn't fly.
-
Hey, you don't have to convince me that some people are beyond rude. I wasn't born yesterday. But your story . . . A house (with a garage) that is so tiny that it cannot fit 40 invited guests? Sure, a Parisian apartment, maybe . . .
-
This story is getting more elaborate by the minute, and frankly at this point I'm not sure I believe it was this extreme. If she had people sitting in a cold garage and if every one of her moves was so lame, such as putting the cake away after offering everyone only a small piece, etc, etc, then why would her rude question…

May His Name be praised! Happy new year everyone!
-
My husband is quite used to using his middle name, because that's how it's been for him since birth. I found that there were inconveniences associated with that. The paperwork that came into the house was all over the place - sometimes his first name, sometimes his middle name, depending on how "official" the matter was,…

Way to go!

What are your plans, OP?

How wonderful you've done so well so far! I personally won't be letting myself return to my past habits these next few days, because I don't want to undo my hard-earned losses so far. You've probably built up your resistance to a lot of tempting foods over these past 90 days, so I think you'll find you have more…

The title of this thread ("Does losing weight make you put ok younger or older") has a typo. Is that something that can be changed? ("Does losing weight make you look younger or older?")
-
It is not right to say negative things about a child and then post a photo of her online the following day. And it looks to me (I could be wrong) that when you quote people, you alter their words slightly, and that's a big no-no.
-
Your question is an interesting one. I find that when you're under, say, 40, you look younger when you're thinner. An older person, however, doesn't necessarily look younger when trim. Sometimes the slimmer version of a person (whether or not they were heavy before) just looks more aged than the plumper version. The…

I agree with this. Consider how complicated this could get over a few months. When you start visibly slimming down, and she asks how long you've been eating differently, what will you say? If you meet about every week, she's going to notice a pattern. Just get it over with - tell her what you're trying to do. Then she'll…
