Marginalising people is never good, especially with obesity as it can affect mental health. In saying that, obesity is not healthy, its been proven and to normalise it will be detrimental.

When my back started to hurt like hell. When i couldn't catch up to my friends when walking. And the one that kicked me into gear quickly was how i looked in the mirror.

Honestly? They were horrid. It was mostly eating bad take away (because i was just lazy). In addition to that drinking a lot of sugary drinks or more alcohol than usual.

I agree to a point, BUT, it is a personal choice for a lot if they want to go down the path of fat acceptance etc. The main thing is personal choice, you have decided to do something about your weight because it affects you, while Tess has decided to whatever she wants to do. Will it affect her later in life? I don't know…

As someone who has an addictive personality, it was the hardest thing to break especially after quitting drinking/drugs and smoking. I'd seriously consider seeing a doctor and go from there, it's what helped me.

I am not a fan of this. In one way, i will NEVER insult/shame someone who is overweight/obese because making fun of people is generally wrong. (and being on the pudgy side would make me a hypocrite!) But it is not a healthy form of acceptance IMO.

My mum does it as well, she believes being overweight is "normal" and that it won't affect me. She has diabetes and back issues due to her weight, i ain't going down that path thanks!

Definitely more exercise. Eat way more salads (within limits of course!) Finally take on a decent size hill/mountain without feeling like i am dying.

Lay off the alcohol, and push myself to move more, the diet side thankfully has been ok so far. Oh and be more patient on the weightloss!
