  • Have you paid attention to how many calories you are consuming? If you are consuming too little, your mood drop could be related to your body needing more than it is getting.
  • You are worth the support and caring words you are receiving here. Not what your husband is telling you. I am divorced for many reasons, but in my marriage? Never once did my ex tell me I was anything but beautiful and he loved me when I had baby weight + more weight, and when I chose to lose my weight, he supported me for…
  • Ouch! Well, that is one way of looking at it. I went from having my best run yet to trying to shove a cold phone down my leggings and shirt in a high traffic area. My priority changed to making sure I didn't do damage to my phone and lose numbers, pictures, etc. I could have tried to run home through my tears, cussing, and…
  • I love my fitbit and find the TDEE it estimates for me to be very accurate based on my weight loss results so far. I don't log any of my workouts in MFP, I let Fitbit sync to it. I do track my exercises on my fitbit when I start and stop them to get an idea of calorie burn, heart rate and time.
  • This has happened to me. I bought an arm strap to wear under my jacket so my phone can be against my skin and not freeze.
  • MFP is set up for your NEAT caloric needs. Therefore it doesn't take into account your exercise when giving you the 1500/day goal. You are supposed to eat back your exercise calories when following this format. Most people however stick to only eating back 50% of these calories, as MFP is known for over estimating calorie…
  • Agreed that this is different for every person, especially with your goals, program and body shape. I take weekly pictures, measurements and weigh in. I see a change in my pictures sometimes only a week apart! Others I don't see anything, yet the scale goes down 2lbs. My first set of pictures are the ones I look back to…
  • Mmmmm... I second the Syntha-6 Chocolate! I love this one! I also would rather spare some calories in order for it to really taste amazing! I am a single mom of 3 kids and I get the rushed morning!!! I don't know what I would do without my protein shakes!! I realize a lot of people would rather chew their calories, but you…
  • Great workout goals and plan! As for the calories, definitely up that! I am 5'1" and 166lbs currently and MFP is set to 1400/day plus half my exercise calories and I am having no issues with my weight loss and measurements. Im Canadian too, and there are the odd gyms here that have a nutritionist employed that can be part…
  • Yep depends on goals and restrictions. I am lactose intolerant... I use unsweetened almond milk in my shakes/smoothies/coffee etc.
  • If I am reading correctly your MFP is only going by the NEAT method meaning that what ever exercise you do, it is meant for you to eat back your exercise calories. (most eat half of what MFP estimates). So that 1570/day would increase if you burnt 600cals exercising, as you would eat this back. The other method is using…
  • I have the Blaze, it is bigger than the Charge 2 but truly just looks like a watch. No different than someone wearing a Nixon watch or something like that. I wear it 24/7 unless I am swimming (not water proof). I found that after a month of solidly wearing it, it has gotten very accurate in my daily TDEE. Im not saying it…
  • Fitbit has the option to "start tracking" an activity, so you could also use this feature in order to pin point your exercise. MFP will pick that up in the calories it gives you and you would have the same tracking to show your trainer.
  • I do meal prep on the weekends. And a major part of that is proteins that I cook (chicken, beef, pork) and then portion and freeze. I can then add to a salad or on a sandwich for my lunches. My favorite is ground turkey with taco seasoning. I put this on salad with salsa and Greek yogurt as a healthy version of a taco…
  • Step one: cure entire pig in brine Step two: Smoke entire pig in smoke house End result: Pig Shaped Bacon
  • I have gone through extremes my whole life, including being in a hospital on morphine from my ovarian cysts, which cause severe pain during BOTH ovulation AND TOM. Doesn't mean that I make sure everyone around me knows its happening and I definitely don't let it effect my day to day.
  • Hmm... ship over 3000 sows to the slaughter house daily with our company... no shortage here so far! Although... I have had a heck of a time finding bacon seeds to plant....
  • This may be harsh, but we all started the monthly cycle between age 12-14 (obviously exceptions to that), you need to learn how to control those PMS symptoms in one way or another. Its life. It happens. If losing and maintaining weight is what you want? Then learn the deal with the cravings. If not, go out and indulge if…
  • I lost 70lbs after my kids were born. I kept it off for 1.5yrs. I did great with maintenance. My regain was due to the fact that I was under stress from many things, and instead of using my fitness and diet to control it and work through it, I let it consume me. Not proud of that at all. However I did "snap out" of it at…
  • Agreed that you should eat maintenance and let breast feeding be your deficit. Just monitor your baby's hunger. You may need to up your calories when your baby goes through growth spurts
  • Yes for two reasons: 1. I may not get another chance for a few hours between work and young kids 2. Because of #1 I don't want to have the opportunity come to eat and be so hungry I make poor choices
  • With any hope for her, she will come back with only a gluten sensitivity and possibly lactose (the two go hand in hand a lot). These are much easier to manage than Celiacs. With Celiacs, your body literally CAN NOT process gluten at all. Ingesting it would make you very very ill. Whereas with a sensitivity, you may not…
  • I do this. I am gone from the house from 7am-5pm. I can't afford to be eating out everyday (even the healthy options) so I have to pack my breakfast, lunch and any snacks. I always Prelog while I am prepped my lunch kit the night before. This way if something is going higher than I expected I can either switch it out or I…
  • This... EXACTLY! I am a young mom... what person under 30 wants to get up early??? No one! I just knew it was the only time of day someone couldn't derail my workout plans!!!
  • That does sound like a really cool site, I may have to check it out for new ideas, I love learning new recipes! The biggest thing for me with exercise... you can't let the interruptions you WILL experience stop you. A kid wants a drink of water? Get him the drink and keep exercising! I find having a workout plan on paper…
  • Agree to do whats right for you. I work in an office, so eating low calorie snacks helps me get through my day and not cave to all the treats that are constantly brought in. But on the weekends? Probably 2-3 meals/day max because I am so busy, I allow myself higher calorie meals while staying at my deficit.
  • I understand the early mornings, not everyone can do those, Im the one that hates late nights! lol! Treadmill is the same for me, so many people get bored, I plan it around a new episode of something I haven't seen yet, and don't even realize I have walked an hour! My downfall is protein, big time! I hate taking the time…
  • I am planning 2 tattoos. First will be at my 1/2 way mark. And the second, as its a large rib piece, will be after 6months of maintenance.
  • I am a coffee addict and snob. When I was pregnant I stopped drinking coffee but not instantly or I had caffeine withdrawals. I started with 3/4 regular and 1/4 decaf and slowly increased the decaf til I was completely weaned off, but still got my coffee "kick" for the day as for me it is a ritual in the mornings... also…
  • Unfortunately you can't really 'tone' the skin, you can lose the fat, you can tone the muscles (if your lucky to have strength there) but the skin won't really change. Some women say that years later it seems to sort of rebound, but a tuck is the only way you'll achieve that tight skin look again
