  • I have mine set to 1lb/week, 5'1", 164lbs. It set me to 1200, I upped that too 1400 right away. I also have it set to lightly active as I didn't know how my days would be since transitioning to my new job. But having negative calorie adjustments enabled helped if my Fitbit showed I wasn't lightly active.... I seem to be…
  • I made a batch of muesli (you can buy it in the store too). You can mix it in yogurt the night before and eat it the next morning. I find it a great breakfast now that I have to eat breakfast before I leave the house.
  • I have controlled asthma. I jog in intervals on my treadmill as my way of getting my cardio in on the days I want it while still being in control of my breathing. I agree to talk to your doctor or try other forms of cardio like a stationary bike
  • Why does it have to be one extreme or the other for the pizza issue? Why can't they talk and compromise. It seems it's being taken as though he is making pizza or something similar every night at 9pm. So OP, why not compromise? Perhaps DH could do this on weekend nights when he is enjoying his weekend, and lay off during…
  • I agree that this is about you! I have only one friend in my circle who I discuss my losses with. She is a beachbody couch, and although she knows I will never follow the 21 Day Fix etc, she is 100% my support. Everyone else? I hear 'you don't need to lose' or 'I can't see it' <-- that one is cause I don't wear form…
  • I am gonna suggest, on the time vs exercise front, to get up early or workout after your LO goes to bed. It's true that diet is the biggest factor in weight loss, but if a regular exercise routine helped in the past, start again. It's hard at first to get into it, but soon you will adjust. If you want it, you will make…
  • I agree that is nothing fancy. Also just to speak for the products... my friend sells Arbonne and gave me two sample shakes to try (I did not ask, she offered) one was the protein shake, the other was the meal replacement. Both tasted terrible and I couldn't choke them down. I prefer shakes that I enjoy the taste of.
  • I'm happy you have answers OP. And I'm very grateful that you just have some stitches and not something worse. Get better and keep us updated on your progress with the medication
  • I have a Fitbit Blaze. I have myself set to sedentary as I work in an office. If you enable negative calorie adjustments, you can set yourself to active if you want, as the day goes on, if you aren't as active as you thought, when Fitbit syncs with MFP, you will get a negative number where your exercise calories show,…
  • That's fantastic! Focus on small goals and you will get there!!
  • My advice is to take it for what it is, a compliment. And find some peace in the fact that these were very innocent situations. These men are expressing their interest. Even if you aren't interested in it (married, dating someone, focusing on you and not wanting someone in your life right now) they have no idea cause there…
  • Agreed that you live in Canada and so do I. I live in an area that has a small 'hospital' a half hour drive and I would still get medical attention if I went there and waited. You need to do the same. They will run blood tests and get things started. They will send you results to you doctor so you can get this started asap
  • I concur with OPs tip... I usually only eat half my plate I have weighed out. As my toddler eats his food and then climbs up and eats mine... Where to get one: many parents think of selling theirs to the circus numerous times a day... I suggest Craigslist and Kijiji....
  • Learn to love them. I have large muscular calves that won't go anywhere with weight loss, this is how my body is. Through my life women have made fun of them and men have envied them. It took me a very long time to make peace with my body shape.
  • OP do you use a scale to weigh your food? And why are you set so low at 5'11"? Just as a comparison: I'm 29, 5'1" (10" shorter...) and 164lbs. I am set to 1400/day and my TDEE on my Fitbit is 2600-2800/day, so I usually am closer to 1900 of food eaten in a day. I am losing 1.5-2lbs per week.
  • I agree with @janejellyroll. My Fitbit is very accurate at calculating my TDEE. When I eat back my calories I still lose. I am set to sedentary so that on a weekend that is lazier than normal, I simply don't have as many extra calories to eat.
  • I am 29 but I am 5'1" and 164lbs and aiming for similar weight range as you. I am eating 1400cals per day and half my exercise calories back which some days gets me close to 1800-2000 depending on my day. I'm losing at a rate of 1.5-2lbs per week. You can most definitely up your intake and still lose without burning out.
  • Im not sure on your stats OP, but I am 5'1", 164lbs and 29yrs old. I have a desk job so I set myself at sedentary and I chase 3 kids in the evenings, mornings and weekends. I set myself to 1400cals/day and I eat back half my exercise calories (I workout 6x/week for 60mins). I am losing at a rate of 2lbs/week right now. You…
  • Hey! So I thought I would show my stats and you can see what I am doing. I am 29 (mom of three). I am only 5'1" and 164lbs currently (goal undecided). I workout 6x/week. 30mins strength and 30mins cardio. I walk for atleast 30-60mins a day on top of that workout just to stay active with my kids. I have my calories set to…
  • At 1200cal/day you wont gain weight. You will lose. I don't have any experience in an eating disorder, but just wanted to say that I am happy you know this may become a trigger and that you are working with your doctor. Its a very responsible and important thing to do! There are time to time posts of people who do not go…
  • I have lost weight 2x before. One after my first 2 children and once after my last child. I am currently losing 35lbs I gained back (I never gained back the whole 70lbs I lost). I find mine is coming off much slower. And that is comparing to the second half of my weight loss last time. The biggest challenge that so many…
  • I wake up at 4:40am. Working out by 4:50am. The first two weeks? I had my friend call me to get me out of bed. No joke... now? I don't even think about it
  • Do they help? No, you could still go over your calories a day with drinking them. Only a caloric deficit will. When to drink? I suppose its what you want to drink them for and what kind of protein you are having Brand and type? Again this is based on goal, taste preference etc. I rely on protein powder and pre mixed ones…
  • Agreed... I wouldn't want to do that... I would be a hangry mess....
  • Yes. Many people do this. If you are looking at your calorie intake as a full week, you can adjust accordingly. I like to eat at my goal and not eat as many workout calories back during the week so that on the weekend I can have a few beer, or that pizza and not be limited to 1 slice. But just remember to still make it a…
  • Is this a boarding situation? Are they paying you to handle all these things as part of rent? Its not unheard of out here, but usually it applies to high school student who go elsewhere for school... not a married couple who sound physically capable of providing their own food.... May I suggest a mini fridge and hot plate…
  • Honestly, my advice is to buy a couple singles from a nutrition/supplement store and try them. I rely on these a lot due to my life style, and I have had ones that have crazy good nutritional value (0fat, lots of protein, some fiber etc etc) and they taste terrible. And I have had ones that taste great, but maybe have more…
  • The friends? Yes girls notice EVERYTHING and they knew what they were saying. I have had this issue since re-gaining about 35lbs in the past months. The co-worker? This is why I think violence in the work place should allowed! I would have thrown a stapler at his head! Keep doing your thing, and don't worry if they don't…
  • If this was true... anorexic people would still be fat. You lose weight at an unhealthy rate and become malnourished when not eating properly. Your body not only loses fat, but also muscle mass.
  • Agreed! When its multiple times, it gets much harder for some people. I struggled with this too and had a huge impact on my weight gain I just went through. (lots of other factors and my own problems, obviously also)
