I eat pizza and chocolate quite regularly. The key is moderation, not restriction. On another note: 1000 calories is probably too little for your body's needs. If you increase your calorie goal to something that will allow you to lose at a more reasonable rate, you're less likely to lose motivation, as you mentioned,…

I weigh weekly, track on MFP and excel using a trendline, and measure monthly using the same methods.
-
It never prompted me. I lost 20lbs before realizing that I should update it. Now I update every week and it usually subtracts 10kcals per pound that I lose. I wouldn't wait for something that may or may not ever happen.

I go over my fat limit nearly every day. It hasn't made a difference in my weight loss at all. If anything, it has made it easier because I tend to feel full longer when a meal has a lot of fats.

I made a chocolate souffle a couple weeks ago. Thought it would be a better alternative to some of the store bought desserts since souffles are typically "airy". Nope, 450 calories in a tiny little 5oz ramekin! Very disappointing as it was quite a technical and time-consuming bake for an amateur like me...

Hi everyone! Thank you all for your insights. I didn't realize that I had more responses until I came back to get the equation again. In case you're curious, I ate an average of 1750 net calories for 5 days on vacation. This is verrry estimated as I did not have a scale with me nor did I do much cooking myself. Walking was…

Agreed!!

Sedentary, as well. Should have mentioned that. I do walk to work most days which gives me a bit of wiggle room with calories, but my desk job keeps me in the sedentary category.

Hi there! I started with almost your exact stats (5'2", 183) and decided to go with 1lb per week because 1200 was misery for me. It gave me 1360 for that goal as you previously mentioned and that was completely doable! It's worth noting that I lost more than 1lb per week on average over the first two months. My loss has…

Does anyone else get extra hungry during ovulation? I've felt unusually hungry the last two days and now I'm thinking it might be due to ovulation... I haven't noticed the same thing during the actual TOM though.
-
I think I found my mistake... I summed 29 days of calories, but divided by 28. When I subtract the extra day of calories, it comes out to 1831. Woo! That'll be fun! Thank you all!

Thanks, @victoria_1024. Based on your profile pic, I'm guessing you're pretty active! I don't think I'll be able to maintain at 1700 when I'm 125 unless I increase activity by a lot. I wish though!

Thank you, @sijomial. This is exactly what I was looking for. However, my calculations cannot be right... I got 2164... I used Net Calories though. Should I have used gross instead?
-
Thank you, @sbrandt37 ! I guess it just seemed too good to be true :D

Just checked. MFP says 1810. That seems outrageously high! Especially for my height...

I started for real on January 1st. I had been recording my calories for a while before that without doing much to change my regular habits.

Hi Tasha! We're already friends on here, but I thought I'd join this lovely group of people! Would love to make new friends for inspiration and motivation. I just learned today that I am only 5'1.5" :open_mouth: I've gone my whole adult life saying I was 5'2" so I'm a bit heartbroken! SW: 183 CW: 162.8 GW: 130 Like many…

My jaw always hurts when I'm stressed. Sometimes that's how I realize that I'm stressed! Other side effects include acne breakouts, headaches, stomach aches, irrational anger toward an innocent bystander (usually my husband or mom), and lately dizziness during or before stressful events. Fun stuff...

I LOVE Takis! I always drink tons of water while eating them too, so that's an added bonus for me :) My advice would be to weigh them instead of count them by "pieces." I've noticed that fewer pieces are typically equal to one serving by weight. You may be eating more calories than you think if you aren't using a food…

The same happens with my husband! I figured it was a male metabolism thing because I sure as heck don't weigh less during the day...
-
When I drink my 67 ounces per day, I have the same beneficial effects! I don't usually drink more than that though, so I can't speak to how much is too much.

I'm 5'2" and have gone from 183 to 162 in just over two months. I started at 1360 calories per day (1lb per week) and lost faster than expected. I am now losing at about that rate while eating 1320 per day. If you're not losing weight, you're eating too much. Being 5'2" requires a lot less calories and a lot more precision…

I don't know if this would help, but I've started leaving about 200 calories for night time snacks. I really enjoy ice cream after dinner or a handful of M&M's, so when I have the calories left, I'm more likely to measure out my night snack, log it, and stay within my calories. So far, it's been very successful and I…

Wow, thank you @Zupdood for this post and all of you for your answers! I had no idea that MFP wouldn't readjust automatically. I just did what @missmagnoliablossom suggested above and it recalculated like I thought it should have a while back. Thanks, again!

Thank you for this! I'd heard about this mystical feature, but hadn't ever seen it. Very helpful. And +1 for adding it to the website!

Love, love, love this one. I wore it under my wedding dress. It also worked well with my bachelorette party dress! It didn't ride up, or down, or anywhere :) It comes with straps, and it also hooks in the back like a bra. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01ARC2OUY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Full time student here! I also work part time and have had to figure out time-management skills in order to lose during the semester. So far, I've found it really helpful to make a big pot of soup or something over the weekend and then have a serving for lunch each day of the week. It also helps to eat leftovers on nights…

Sometimes you get more! Plus, it takes all the guess work and worry out of it - for me, anyway. If your estimations are sufficient, you should lose weight without a scale. But if not, you probably won't see the scale move. Maybe wait to see if you need one?

Hi! 21 and started off with 53 to lose on January 1st. 11 down, 42 to go!
