Hey Jazz! I am in a very similar situation. I'm about 5'2", 26 years old, and I started at 183lbs in 2017. Long story short, I got down to 125 and then stopped tracking my food because I thought I had "made it" and could stop. Anyway, your mention of paying attention to how you feel and other health measures really…

This. I started at 183, 5’3”. I lost extremely fast at first, using MFP’s “2lb/week” amount of 1200 calories (actual loss was about 3lb/week at first). But I was miserable. I dreaded it and I couldn’t wait to be “done.” I lost 55lb in 2017. And then gained it back by 2019. If I could reach back in time and tell my 2017…

Hello! I'm joining a little late, but I'm hoping that's okay! I'm one of the "restarters" and I know that challenges like this really helped me the first go around. It's already so inspiring seeing everyone's posts for the month! Nov Start Weight: 177 Nov Goal Weight: 170 Ultimate Goal Weight: 140 Nov 1: 177 Nov 8: 175 Nov…

I was thrilled to lose weight back in 2017. Ecstatic. Then I gained it back. I became extremely depressed. Moral of the story: It's not a bad thing to separate your self-worth and emotions from your weight. Perhaps you could reframe your apathy as a healthy emotional separation from the necessary work that you're doing for…

First attempt was semi-successful. Not as smooth as I expected. I think I need a better blender! Still good enough to eat though and I ate the whole bowl quite quickly  Thanks for all the recipes! I was shivering and had major brain freeze by the end of the bowl. Needed blankets and hot tea after! :D worth it.
-
Yes! I read in detail about each recipe that everyone tried. Mine has whey and casein. Very excited to try tonight.

I am about three years behind on this thread (currently on page 33/114), but I just wanted to thank you all for the protein powder ice cream idea! I am buying protein powder tonight and I am praying that it works like your photos!

Mine isn’t syncing today either.

I use chain restaurants to estimate. Try to get the size of the pizza and the thickness of the crust to match. If I can tell the pizza I'm eating has more cheese or pepperoni than the chain pizza, I'll add an extra 50 quick add calories to off set it.

I didn't check in here this year, but I lost 54 pounds :) I have reached my goal of 130 lbs. In fact, I am currently 129.0! Big thanks to this thread and the motivation that it gave me to look at the value of a whole year. I was very short-sighted before. But not anymore :)

Hi there! I just graduated in May, but I lost 40 pounds during my last semester. You can do it! I would highly recommend pre-logging your food for the day, or even the week, so that it's all taken care of and not another thing to worry about during classes. Feel free to add me if you'd like! I still have another 10 or 15…

Interesting... Yesterday morning, MFP was "down for maintenance." Maybe that has something to do with all these weird glitches?
-
I'd still like to know why/how it happened. Seems like a dangerous glitch for someone who doesn't know that they shouldn't eat below 1200.
-
Ok, yup, that fixed it. Must have just been a strange glitch... Thanks!
-
That's what I was thinking. Unless MFP changed their rules about 1200 being the minimum?
-
Not sure if this is an option, but could you just have the dress altered to fit you 2-4 weeks before the wedding? Why stop losing weight just to make the dress look "not bad" when instead the dress could make you and your new body look amazing!
-
I have no problem fitting in a beer with dinner or a couple tequila shots on the weekends. Any more than that would probably leave me pretty hungry during the day. Not sure how you define "heavy drinking," but it might be necessary to budget your alcohol consumption if you find you're going hungry during the day or not…

Fast-paced music helps me! I like to sing along and get really into it while I'm doing cardio. It makes the time go by waaayyy faster and helps me look forward to working out. My exercise time has become "me time" and is a lot more fun than when I was trying to do it without entertainment. Another option is to watch your…

I do this too. When I first started, I would really struggle thinking that I couldn't eat anything after dinner. Pre-planning snacks has been a huge help to me. Hang in there, @Gram1959. We all started somewhere. You'll thank yourself for starting now and sticking with it no matter what.

Hi OP, the only real reason to track exercise in MFP when you have a Fitbit is to create a post on your wall that you did exercise. Doing this will not double count your calories burned, as @malibu927 mentioned. If you like seeing the wall posts for exercise, then go ahead and log in MFP. I find it easier to just let my…

I have recently been using a fitbit and thought the same as the above. However, I tried eating most of my adjustments last week (+300-600 daily) and ended up losing almost exactly what was estimated. It was really enlightening. Feed your body what it needs! You'll feel much better when you do, I'm sure.

A filet of salmon? A can of tuna? Or eat a well-balanced meal tonight and plan ahead for tomorrow so that this doesn't happen again?
-
Thank you for this! I was wondering if fitbit adjusted the stride length depending on activity. Very good info in this sticky and in the comments!

I just got my Charge 2 a week ago, but from my understanding, the Cardio Fitness Score is based on several factors including resting heart rate. Is it possible that your resting heart rate has been a bit higher over the past few days causing the score to decrease? I've noticed this inverse correlation between my RHR and…

I really like the negative adjustments. They motivate me to get up and do something. I love watching it change from a negative adjustment to a positive one!

I was having this problem with my fitbit. I disconnected MFP and the fitbit app on my phone and computer, then reconnected starting with the computer. Not sure if it applies to Apple Watch, but it might be worth a shot? I'm now getting 200-400 calorie adjustments for about 7000 steps while set at Sedentary with no…

1-2lbs per week is a great rate! You could probably stand to change your MFP settings to 1lb per week. That would definitely help with the hunger!

There is! If the correct entry does not come up in the search, there is a link below the list of results that says "Add food to database" or something like that. I think you're doing a pretty good job of choosing foods, though. I had a look at your diary. One more comment: I noticed you sometimes enter "1 tortilla" or "4…

It could be that the foods you're using from the database are incorrect and you're eating more calories than what you have logged. Have you double checked your entries with official websites like https://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/? This helped me a lot when first getting started. A lot of the entries here are wrong and I found…
