I know it's against all advice, but I like daily weigh ins. I think it's an individual thing. If it enhances your OMAD journey, do it, if it detracts, don't.

When I can't excuse myself from a business meal, I've tried to have just a plain salad with dressing, no croutons etc. then I have a normal OMAD meal at night. Doesn't seem to interfere with progress. In your case where you consumed 300 calories mid day, I would try to just eat really light that day. But if you do this too…

Pizza on naan bread is awesome . . . chicken and tomato pizza smothered in buffalo sauce!

Your 'brutally honest' pic is pretty nice!

Glad you're keeping up with us! Take all the time you need, we'll be here when you come back "full time".

Thanks, but I've hit a plateau around 210 that is irking me something fierce . . . . back to basics!!! Stay tuned . . .
-
Keep up the good work . . . you're back in the saddle now, good things are coming your way.

How in the world is a dude supposed to be supportive here? Umm, good job? ;)

Onederland, love it! Congratulations!
-
Get well soon! Quite awesome that you are making OMAD work for you even when sick.

Does it ever! Before minimalism was ever a thing, I decided I had too much stuff. Now truth be told, I haven't minimized, just stopped accumulating as much. Stuff makes you crazy! It does drive me crazy, of course for me it's a short trip.

Welcome aboard! Wishing you success in improving your health.

As far as pain goes, Sensei Delgado (same one in the video) told me something interesting. I mentioned to him I had to lose some weight because at my age hitting the mat hurts! He told me "The mat hurts because you still fear the mat." He said it in his thick Bronx accent, which made it even better. Know something? He was…

Welcome aboard everyone! Start your own discussion threads, you will find that everyone here is interested.

Welcome! Born and raised in Baton Rouge, I grew up on what is considered 'soul food'. You'll find room for favorites like greens, even grits and fried chicken and catfish, or red beans and rice, in moderation. I do. Just be sure to pair these meals with a large green salad, fresh fruit for dessert. Don't forget apple cider…

Nice chart! It's amazing the lessons to be learned from a simple run chart

What I think that means is the "standard " estimates of max heart rate do not apply to you. One way to estimate max HR is 220 -age = MHR I have read that this does not apply to a significant fraction of the population. Some are just faster, some slower, and that's normal. If MHR cannot be estimated, it can be measured…

I don't really look at calories burned, mainly because I don't trust their algorithm, but also because I'm not tracking calories to do a deficit/surplus balance. Heart rate is important because it's a good measure of the proper intensity of exercise for each of us as individuals. Cardio zone for a very fit person will look…

Awesome week Shannon!!!

I am going to remember that. It's already ringing in my ears.

Awesome, Jim!

For Anthony, that day, it was.

Thanks @blambo61 and @amflautist . . . chart is done in Microsoft Excel. Sorry, no videos of me doing aikido, but I am in the background on the right during this 'sour candy' demo . . . Sensei Delgado Sour Candy

Welcome aboard Jennifer and Jake!!! Weekends are tough for me, for the same reason. A tsp of coconut oil helps fight cravings, and all the usual advice like staying hydrated, etc. If you like the taste of coconut, unrefined is good. Refined coconut oil has all the same benefits, as I understand it, but it tastes like plain…

Walking is, by far, the mainstay of my routine. There's a bit more to the story, so I guess I'll throw it out here. I will have, at some point in my near future, a black belt test to pass in a martial art called Nihon Goshin Aikido. It's an endurance test where I will have to defend against 150 consecutive attacks . . . if…

Isn't that something!!! Wonderful start, happy you're with us.

208 lbs this morning, for 29.75 lb loss since 12/30/16 (although the ticker graciously rounds up to 30). 30 lbs is a milestone, but I'm not marking this because an even bigger one is right around the corner -- 200 lbs! I haven't weighed 200 lbs in over 30 years, and almost nobody in my life now has known me under 200 lbs.…

Still amazingly consistent . . . 54 lbs loss is a lot! Have you had the experience of picking up something weighing 54 lbs and realizing you used to carry that all the time?
