  • Thats a very good question... We all "fail". Thats human. Failing the same way time and time again is a bit silly - but also human... Identify what you fail on (and feel free to talk about that here or friends (add me if you like)) and make changes for the next time. You can do it, they key is to finding just what to do:)
  • Depends on what you weight to begin with I guess and length etc. Suggest listening to your trainer as it does seem very low. In doubt - go to doctor and/or nutritionist.
  • Well - you are certainly in the right place
  • Hi Never feel alone. You can always post (as you have done) and always talk (which is what you are doing). Too much weight is a problem many of us face. We have it for numerous reasons and sometimes we just feel completely at a loss for it. We feel like we have no control and helpless. I've been there myself (and sometimes…
  • Thank you all for your input. :) I will use a mix of all these. Over time I'm sure it will become a lot more apparent to me which is best for a given situation:) One thing I did find is that MFP does allow you to inport recipes from online sources including Dutch language sites. I needed to edit them a little bit but in…
  • Very glad that you got the assistance you needed :) That's the important part, that you work with your doc and nutritionist and get a program that you are happy with and is tailored for you. Good stuff and thank you for reporting back. Always good to know how others deal with their situation.
  • Absolutely.
  • Contact fitbit support or MFP support?
  • Slightly related - you can improve your condition whilst sleeping if you dream of improving your condition... https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/the-running-blog/2013/jul/31/dreaming-help-you-run-faster Article from The Guardian (also reported in Daily Fail at same time so your mileage may vary).
  • Funnily enough - I just bought Yoga Studio from Gaiam yesterday (it's on iPhone & iPad). Cost 3.99 Euro. I haven't practiced with it yet but according to my daughter (who does yoga regularly) - it's good. Yoga Studio has a large number of pre-defined classes from beginner to advanced for various aims (balance, strength,…
  • Use smaller plates and make less.
  • Make the varieties you eat as broad as possible. Be aware that some fish do have higher levels of heavy metals. Be also aware some tuna (yellow tuna) can make you sick if you eat a lot of it. Also where you can - get wild fish or if it's farmed fish then learn about where it is from. A lot of imported fish (talapia and…
  • I think it's something that will come eventually... When I started running - even breathing was difficult. Over time and KM gained, I could continue and also breath better. Sometimes I had to consciously bring my breathing back under control and others - it was fine. It did get better over time. I remember doing one 15K…
  • Go for it, kick back, relax, enjoy the moment. It's one or two days out of four months. If you feel like *kitten* in the morning - remember why  but also remember you had a great time (you did, didn't you). From experience, it takes me a few days to recover from a heavy night (I'm not getting any younger). What I eat…
  • It all depends. If you are counting steps then there will be more steps if you are walking around the house/work per distance than there will be if you are walking in a straight line with purpose. Counting steps really is counting each time you make a step irrespective of distance. That said - if you are counting steps…
  • Great stuff - glad you sorted it:)
  • Maybe ask why you are drinking it in the first place? If it's ritual - then replace with redbush or decaf etc. If it's for the caffeine then cut it down, half amount a week etc. If you are wanting a taste in your mouth... Maybe experiment with other things (a few thin slices of lemon and some fresh ginger is very nice).
  • If you have been working really hard - it could be muscle going on. ALso - maybe it;s your scales? 1lb difference is 500g. That;s maybe two cups of tea in fluid. It could be that. Whilst I can well understand it's frustrating, try not to worry. Weight does fluctuate over the course of a month depending on bodily cycles and…
  • One thing to remember is that MFP is a computer thing and as such doesn't know your own situation, it only knows about general situations. You have done the right thing by questioning what it tells you. Also, you mention you have spoken to doctor. What do they think? Is it a good idea to speak to a dietitian? They can work…
  • Depends on what sort of breakfast:) IF it's low carb then sure - eat it. If it's donuts - then well - maybe not. Maybe explain to boss that you really like and appreciate the breakfast but please don't be offended if I skip? OR - alternatively - request something that you can eat? Maybe just drink coffee/tea with them? One…
  • Maybe I just put the work in. I mean - typing burns cals doesn't it?
  • Good plan:)
  • Yup - I find it's around 600 so I guess thats the way. Just would like a breakdown of nutrients but of course - that is going to take the extra work to put it all in.
  • I sort of currently use the avg for say a "large onion" and components etc and add them up as a number. This gets quick added. I'm not that obsessive that I count to the n'th degree:) Main thing for me is that I have an idea of what is going in. Really it's about monitoring it all I think.
  • You are welcome. You might like top cool the rice like sushi rice is cooled - spread it out in a big bowl and waft it with a fan. Great way to get some extra exercise;)
  • Let us know if it works:) f5 and or ctrl+f5 to refresh the browser page.
  • Should be fine. Rice is really only a problem after maybe 24 hours out of the fridge. 48 if kept in. Thats from my experience. Others may vary. Of relevance - sushi rice and rice for stir fries is cooked an then left to cool - this often takes time.
  • Have you asked your friends if it's shown as changing for them? It maybe that your browser isn't refreshing. IF it shows for them as changing then it's your browser. IF not - then maybe drop a line to the MFP support folks?
  • Fried (in butter) onion, paprika & black sausage with two scrambled eggs. Normally around 400 cals, with black sausage - 700. Quite high but it is low-carb... It keeps me going for entire day (maybe a piece of fruit or rye bread in between).
  • :) Well done on turning down the Chinese. So many extra cals there and its way too easy to eat too much:) Vodka and Diet Coke? Take it vodka on rocks or straight (if at all:) ) - Diet Coke has a lot of sweetener in it. Whilst not proven, it has the same effect on blood sugar as normal sugar without the energy so you get a…
