Anyone have any follow ups? I have been eating healthy for a year or two now and my face has been breaking out increasingly worse over that time. I keep thinking it’s purging but it never stops, no matter what I try.

I use an app called RunKeeper. It's free and automatically syncs with MyFitnessPal. (Note it basically acts as a GPS tracker and therefore does not work on the treadmill.)

You don't need to change what you're eating, so much as just eat more of it. If you were having an apple and 1 TBSP. of nut butter for a snack, make it 1.5–2 TBSP. instead. A little extra each time you eat won't seem like much at the time, but will up your calorie intake to where you need it to be to maintain. Personally,…

There's a standard "Strength training" entry under the cardio section of exercise, so that's what I use. I don't rely on the "calories burned" reports, though. I use it more just to track that I did work out that day.

Thank you everyone for your answers! It's nice to see a couple that I've been thinking but wasn't really sure if they counted as goals, so now I feel better about them! For those who are curious, that would mean my goals are: lower body fat percentage to less than 20% (currently about 1.5% away), cut down on body fat in…

I've lost 70lbs of fat in the last couple of years, so I HANDS DOWN understand the struggle. However, I'm getting there, so I think you can too! Good luck!

Being able to do real pushups is a goal of mine too! I can hold plank for 90+ seconds and chaturanga in yoga with no trouble, but try to rise up again after lowering down and forget it! They're hard!

That's kind of one of mine too. A couple of months ago I was around 21.5%, but it's that last ~2% that's going to be the hardest, I'm sure. I don't have a regular way to measure it either, so that's kind of what is stopping it from being a tangible goal for me.

Oh what shoes!? I have high arches and tend to roll my feet outward and often have shin splint issues, especially after running on treadmills. I recently read that I should put the treadmill on at least a .5% incline, as running on a flat treadmill is basically like running on a decline, which is super hard on the shin…

It might be more cardio than anything, but there is DEFINITELY muscle recovery happening after Zumba. Granted there are varying levels of Zumba out there, but even in the easier classes I've taken, I still spend an hour doing squats, lunges, and jumps. Regardless, everyone is different. Some people can run every day, but…

I am vegetarian (about 20 years in the making) and try to limit my dairy, so I understand the struggle. Check out nomeatathlete.com. You can sign up for his free course (http://www.nomeatathlete.com/get-started) and he will send you a "best plant-based sources of protein" PDF that's very handy. I can't seem to find a…

Interesting. I have PMDD, but it is definitely better in recent years; however, I'm also on better anti-anxiety/depression meds and the working out has helped considerably.

I'm pretty sure where I am is a good weight. I found a chart on fitnessmagazine.com that said with my small frame and taller height, a healthy weight is 122-131 lbs; however, considering I'm a size 4-6 as is, I don't think losing 10–20 lbs would be healthy for me at all, so they must not factor muscle into their weights.…

I eat 1200–1800/day, depending on how much I work out. I am definitely not undereating. I am not on any kind of birth control.

I'm also a non-negotiable ovo-lacto vegetarian, so I completely understand your struggles. I recommend checking out No Meat Athlete's website. He posts charts and things about being athletic and vegetarian. Here's his post: http://www.nomeatathlete.com/vegetarian-protein-primer/ You can sign up for his e-mails and he will…

I weigh myself every morning, and my weight constantly fluctuates between 0-4 lbs day to day. Like everyone else said, it's due to a variety of things (water weight, not having pooped in a while, that time of the month, etc.) and is completely normal. Most places recommend just weighing yourself once a week for that…

I just pulled a ton of recipes from https://www.cleaneatingmag.com/. You can also google recipes whatever you're wanting, adding "healthy" in, and it will pull up recipes for you to try. However, please do make sure you're doing this healthily. If you want your intended weight loss to be sustainable, you need to learn how…

I LOVE working out, but it took me about a year of regularly doing it to get to this point. Even though I now love working out in general, I hate spinning and don't really like running, so those aren't workouts I usually do. I love Zumba, yoga, and weight-lifting, so those are the workouts I focus on instead. It's very…

Thank you for the advice, everyone. Without someone specifically telling me when and what to do, I go in and feel aimless. I do 12 bicep curls, maybe 12 skull crushers, and then I feel lost and like what I'm doing is pointless (perhaps part of my issue is mental). I also worry that I'm not creative/knowledgeable enough to…

I don't NEED to do as much cardio; I just really enjoy it!

I find that when my iron levels are low, I get thirstier and drink a lot more water. If you're truly concerned, I suggest getting your vitamin levels checked. That being said, if you're not feeling great after drinking a lot of water, that means you've drank too much. For me, the symptoms are a lot like being dehydrated—I…

As someone who had gained a lot of weight and has now lost it, I can tell you that being in shape feels GREAT. I honestly feel so much better, physically and mentally, than I did before. I didn't realize how not great I had felt until I lost the weight either. However, I did it while still occasionally indulging in donuts.…

Maybe she just had RBF? Or perhaps she was immersed in her workout and while her gaze might have been in your direction, she wasn't really seeing you? I generally look angry when I'm concentrating during a workout.

Definitely add some strength training in, and try mixing up your workouts in general. Your body can somewhat get used to doing the same exercise over and over and eventually it needs more to see the same results you saw in the beginning. In general, though, strength training is needed to help maintain weight loss in the…

I lost the first 10-20 pounds of my weight loss just getting my 10,000 steps every day and doing yoga regularly, so it's certainly doable without access to a gym. Tracking what you eat and holding yourself accountable is absolutely necessary, though. And while walking is good for burning fat, muscle is what burns calories…
