This has been a problem for at least 6 months. Two rounds of the Harry Potter challenge have been affected by this, to the point where they had to alter how they even contact members who want to participate. The Devs know, they just haven't fixed it. (Or they feel that only contacting people you know is a great idea.)

I do like how he included the caveat about not just sitting on the couch breathing harder. There goes my weight-loss plan for this evening.

Are carrots and green beans the only vegetable you enjoy? I would get sick of this in 3 days :/

If you're in western Canada like me, do you have access to a local Varagesale community? I use that to sell my old clothes and buy new for super cheap as I don't intend to keep them for long! It has saved me a fortune.

When I heard that the founder of Ikea had passed, my first thought was whether they were going to bury him in a flat-packed, Allen keyed coffin.

Even people who DO know it all can still have trouble following "the right path". Don't beat yourself up. Just start small, make little changes you can stick to, and most importantly, keep logging on. It's when you fall out of touch with your support (in real life and here) that you forget to care.

Basically, you start with the very basics :) Having been in the army, you are likely aware of basic fitness and nutrition, so you just need to re-familiarize yourself with your knowledge and keep in mind that YOU CAN DO IT. An injured back (if it still is) will mean some tweaking to your fitness choices, but it's very…

I find this interesting, as because until recently in Canada, this rule wouldn't have allowed the purchase of toilet paper or feminine products. They weren't considered a "necessity" and were subject to tax.

Looking forward to making some good progress this term!

Bring it, peons. Slytherin will win the day!

Is this an option for next time - split the meal. When that happens to me (and my husband does it a fair bit!) I try to split the meal and add veg/salad on the side from home, and eat the rest for lunch the next day. Then you still get to enjoy it, but it isn't as emotionally draining. Possible for you?

Personally, when I was larger, any housecleaning beyond basic tidying made my heart rate spike, I got into a sweat, and it was exercise. So when I did the "big" house cleaning days, I logged it because it was exercise. Now that I am smaller, those things don't spike my heart or make me break a sweat, so it doesn't make any…

I have smaller bowls and just got used to it, I guess. I find now if I just pour into a bowl and munch, I end up with way too much and feel so full that I feel sick.

Cutting out soda was an excellent choice. I did too, and it really makes a difference. It sounds like you would benefit from exercise that can be done sitting down, to minimize strain on your body. A google search came up with loads of exercises done in a chair or couch, and if you combine that with serious food control,…

Holy *kitten*, you're right! That is literally copied from that text! Way to go, OP. #Troll

That's a bold statement.

"He's exactly like your father was, don't go there." Sadly, I went there. And it turns out she was right.

The thread about the man upset by the woman in the booty shorts at the gym and the retribution he is about to get from the women of MFP.

If I knew my child looked up to you, trusted you, and being fit you obviously are in more of a "successful" position than me in this area, I would certainly ask you for your help as well. I wouldn't threaten your job, but I would definitely try to get you "on board" with helping, even if in more discrete ways so the child…

This makes me laugh, because my son is now about 2 1/4, and he just has better vocabulary to say NO to me! It's funny how they see us as the devil for saving their lives, cleaning up after them, and being sure they get fed and do fun things. Just ridiculous :P

Isn't there a thread on here about some guy who still lost weight even eating fast food, he just minimized the portions?

Well have you signed up for the Hogwarts weight loss challenge too? DOOO EEEEET!!

It also depends on what texture you find. I've seen very dry cottage cheese which is pretty yucky (and adding sugary stuff doesn't help make it better, not to me anyway), but the wet version goes down better for me. I tend to add it on top of salad and tuna, or add savoury spices like salt/pepper/onion/garlic, and some…

As in, this isn't friends of friends just introducing themselves (as his message was fairly polite), but unsolicited people you literally don't know just sending random info about themselves in hopes that you will chat with them? That's just odd.

I met Demi Moore and Bruce Willis, with their daughters at a summer camp for wealthy teens in New York State. I worked there over a summer. Demi Moore was super nice and fairly friendly, but Bruce Willis holed himself up to meditate and read in a field with his bodyguards around him and didn't talk to anyone. Their…

If you like flavour but not the spice, skip pepper/spicy altogether and just move to garlic, onion, curry, cinnamon, mustards, etc. You can certainly flavour-up any dish without using any form of pepper. Cinnamon surprised me the most. A tiny hint of it tastes really good in red meat dishes.

My husband is 9 years older than me. It's not always a bad sign to happen to meet someone you really like that is just a bit older than your parents would want. We've now been married 8 years, together 10+, with a 2 year old. She is 22 - leave her be and try to like the guy. She'll either figure it out for herself or not,…

^^ Ha, that's what I was thinking. "One??"
