My name is Keith. Over the years I have tried many times to have the right mindset and discipline when it comes to fitness and especially nutrition. Main obstacle is not having enough money to afford the food I should be eating and taking the training classes I would like to take. Not really understanding the Macro thing. My dad passed away in April of this year 2017 and has unfortunately put me in a doesn't matter frame of mind, so I can count on one hand how many times I have been back to the gym. I have even thought about canceling my gym membership. Very unsure were to go from here, could use alot of helpful advice. I know I need to get back to the gym and take care of myself.

Just start by logging your food. That's it.

Use the calorie goal and the macros this site suggests. At the end of the day, or the next morning - take a look at your food for the day and see if you can figure out a way to eat a little less, just eating what you would normally like to eat. Try to hit your protein, and that's it for now.

The gym or exercise, do what you like to do there, too. I don't like gyms, but I do like to swim and hike and kayak.

One day at a time. Take it easy. Don't try to be perfect or get it all right at first. It's a process.
  • Even people who DO know it all can still have trouble following "the right path". Don't beat yourself up. Just start small, make little changes you can stick to, and most importantly, keep logging on. It's when you fall out of touch with your support (in real life and here) that you forget to care.
