Looks like you are off to a good start with your plan. Are you drinking enough water? I'm on Synthroid and I find drinking a lot really helps, combined with cutting out added sugar, and moderate portions.

We have a friend like this. A tiny south Korean lady who weighs 97 pounds soaking wet and buys children's clothing. She spends most of her visits complaining about how fat she is and saying she eats nothing but cookies for lunch because she's in a hurry. It gets a bit wearing.

Part of it could also be the habit of it. What are you *doing* while snacking? Hubby and I have a really hard time not snacking while watching any tv or movie in the evening after little guy goes to bed. We had been doing it for so many years that it isn't that we were truly hungry, it was just part of the evening ritual.

You could ask for a change to how the household stuff is stored. You could ask politely (and explain why you're having trouble) for her to keep the "bad" food in her room instead of in the common area. Not stuff you would make for dinner, etc, or that needs to be refrigerated, but like Twizzlers and chips do not have to be…

Since December 2016. And when I say cutting out sugar, I don't mean literally any fruit/honey/everything else in this world that contains some form of sugar. I cut out most drinks but water and coffee (with cream and sugar because it's yucky without them), candy/chocolate/junk, and eat smaller portions with mostly protein…

Welcome! Get your water in. Monitor your food more carefully because exercise is a limited option for now. The exercise gurus will have more ideas on exercises that are safe to do.

What did you do last time? You say you have done it before, and 10 pounds in 2 months = 5 pounds in 1 month, your minimum. Go with what works for you.

Mostly, pick something you will actually enjoy and stick with. I.e. I've been told I'm strong enough and would do well running. I hate running and will never KEEP running. So I don't run, I do dance, Jazzercise, walking and calisthenics. Remember too that it's hard to out-exercise a bad diet. Better to just adopt a better…
