  • Nope, not diabetic amazingly after 20 years of 2 liters of soda per day.
  • Thank you for the kind message. Yes the same exact thing every single day. And essentially the same meal all three meals. There is no meal planning, meal prep is literally 1 hour work for 2 days of food. Food moved from "pleasure" to fuel in a very good way. I no longer crave that bag of Doritios, or the twinkies. Sure I…
  • 1400 total. Yes it's too fast. Again all approved and monitoring buy my doctor. 4.5 is the average for the year. I don't have my log handy but over the past month it's probably right at 3 a week if I remember correctly how much I weighed on the first of the month. Still to fast, but not crazy fast.
  • Thank you everyone for the kind words! Yes, slowing down is fast approaching. Up till now I have been losing over 4.5 pounds a week. Doctor said that was fine with the amount of weight I had to shed. I'm okay to continue as is till 200 pounds and then we will reevaluate what I should be trying to achieve in terms of burn…
  • Congratulations! How long do you continue to log food? Or are you still doing so?
  • Thank you all for the very nice words of encouragement! It truly does mean a great deal to me. It has been worth every bit of work for the new me. Still a ways to go to a healthy weight, but nothing is going to stop me from getting there!! I saw a friend last week I had not seen in 2-3 years. He literally had no idea who I…
  • Keep it going. Don't even do the BS "try for 16 minutes tomorrow" Just do the 15 minutes again tomorrow. Once you get used to it, then extend the time you take. You'll know when it becomes too easy, or you are going much further in the same time that it is right to work on making it harder. I think when I started doing a…
  • I weighed 400.8 pounds on December 31 2016. Yesterday I weighed 225.4. You can do it. Around my highest weight (hospital visit so actual verified weight) I was 497 pounds in June of 2015. I was still drinking 2+ liters of soda a day and eating fast food/pizza as the main part of my diet. Just less of it. This year I am…
  • Tacos....lots and lots of tacos.
  • What helps me is remembering, not eating is always an option. So if it is a business thing and I know we are going to do a lunch and dinner together, I might hit my calorie limit for the day after we eat lunch. So at dinner, glass of club soda, and good company. I know it can be hard to explain to people about dieting, so…
  • Hate to break it to you. Yes they do exist. I religiously log everything and keep the exact same workout routine. For a period of 20 days I yoyoed around the same weight when I should have lost (by doing the proven math that has worked over the past 8 months) around 10 pounds. No reason or rhyme to it. Just literally…
  • Thank you all for the comments. Just really got me down today still not breaking the stall 16 days into the month with the amount of effort I am putting into it. I'll continue to be patient and hope for a turn around in results. 5'10" or so. I understand the slower as you loose more burn less math side of things. But even…
  • The scale is just another metric to measure by. When you are at a not overweight, its not the best tool to judge by, but it is a tool to provide data. You look great, and should be happy with your progress no matter what the scale says. Start taking other measurements. Such as bicep, thigh etc. I find it best to have…
  • The reason to quit soda is the sugar and calories. When I quit my 2+ liter a day habit, I found that going for a coke zero or even flavored water made me crave the "real thing". So I quit anything besides water for a few months. Now I have a coke zero or two a day without any problems. If you don't get the cravings from…
  • There is a chain here in the southwest called Roberto's they list their nutritional info. Its a "fast food style" place. I use it a lot for any generic Mexican restaurant I go to for logging purposes. Most of their info is here in MFP database, but I always double check off the website.…
  • Solid advice. For me it is about meal timing. Knowing it is X amount of hours till my next meal has eliminated any snacking urges for me. I scheduled it as 11am breakfast, 2pm lunch (right after I workout) small snack at 4:30, and dinner at 6:30. But do what works for you. Ive been on 16:8 since mid January, with great…
  • Put the scale in one spot. Dont move it at all ever. Weight the same time/and clothing (if any) every day. Weigh at least 2 times in a row just to check. If you get drastically different numbers, weigh a third and fourth time till you get some "consistency". You'll get a feel for that particular scale and how it reads.
  • Its math. The less you weigh, the less you burn just standing around. Also the less you burn in the same amount of time doing the same exercise at the same intensity. Example at 400 pounds, you burn 3800 calories a day with zero exercise. When you are 250 pounds only 2700 calories being sedentary.
  • I hit the goodwill/desert industries. I'm still loosing and no where near goal. So other than cheap walmart t-shirts I try to go with the used stuff from thrift stores. Its been working out okay. Found 4-5 pairs of acceptable dress pants and a few pair of jeans. Plenty of dress shirts and polo shirts I can get away with…
  • I think a lot of people in this thread are confusing the culture and philosophy of PF with the ability to use a gym for $10 a month. The free pizza day and tootsie rolls, stupid minimalist workout goals, etc are contrary to getting in shape. Guess what? YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO THAT!!!! If you can live with 75 pound dumbbells,…
  • 16:8 for 7 months now 133 pounds lost. For me it is all about meal timing. Knowing it is only X amount of time till the next meal has cut my want of snacks down to nothing. Its not magic. You still need to eat at a calorie deficit to loose weight. Wanting to extend the fast past 16:8 seems pointless to me.
  • The 70 pound massive lift was a true story from yesterday... I am not kidding in the slightest. You would have thought he was lifting a car that was stuck on his chest. I'm in agreement with you. I can only speak to the 2 PF's I go to. A little grunt or sharp breath as you lift is not a problem at either of them. Its the…
  • I was being sarcastic. It is usually the idiot putting up little weight making the most noise.
  • You are incorrect in almost everything you said. I dead lift, super set, bench and overhead weekly. They don't want people screaming and dropping weights. If you are referring to that as noise. Actually its nice, not having that guy doing massive 70 pound bench press grunting like he just lifted a car. It is not the gym to…
  • I think you need to define what a plateau is. Fluctuations happen. But a tend line will show the real results. That is why the weight tracking apps are so handy. Sure you might hit a week where nothing happens. I had a spot of 5 days where I lost nothing at all. But it caught up by the end of the month and I was roughly…
  • To weigh stuff on a plate, turn a bowl upside down, and put the plate on top of it. That way you can still read the numbers.
  • There are many many different ways to do IF. What are you doing? Most do some type of 16 hour fast 8 hour eat. So basically just all three meals in a 8 hour window, and nothing during the other 16 hours. Or other variations of timing. IF is not a magical thing. I keep very specific time to eat by, knowing that it is X…
  • I have a "snack meal" that I list my single soda I drink a day along with the everyday things like small amount of carrots and my afternoon snack. That way 2 clicks and it is all logged for the day.
  • Majority of my diet is carbs. 127 pounds lost since January doing that.
  • My problem is it deletes the exercise I have done. I gave up on it when the support staff just kept sending me robot replies. Like If I walk a mile, then go bike 4 it will delete the mile walk and replace it with the bike ride. Not keeping both.
