Fluctuations just suck! I eat at a very big deficit (over 1000 Cal per day) and no way that I can gain weight or maintain.... Yet for 8 days this month there I was stuck at 187, when math says I should have lost 3+ pounds. The scale finally started to move again but dang it just kills you when you are busting your rear off…

BTW just a quick update... Last 2 weeks with all the travel I was eating Im sure 1800-2000 calories a day with no chance to workout. Learned a very important lesson about not keeping food in reach while driving.....Damn you cookie dough protein bars! hah. But Im okay with it. I know I could have made 180 for the year…

Thank you! I do quite a bit of shooting. Mostly into very long range target shooting. Now that I am considerably more fit and active I may get back into IPSC or IDPA that I used to shoot 20 years ago. No hunting really. I do harvest some deer now and then, but its non native Axis deer that mite as well be domesticated…

You can do 200 in a year. I just hit 215 lost for the year. From 400 pounds on January 1st to 185 on my weigh in this morning!

Trust me when I say this. Lotus Of Siam. If you like Thai food it is literally the best place on earth outside Thailand for it. Reasonably priced, low key, not fancy. AMAZING food. For Mexican Lindo Michoacan is good They have two locations in town. Low end Mexican food, There is a taco truck at a tire shop near downtown…

No idea. I don't care too much about those types of things while still being 20+ pounds away from my goal weight.
-
Starting to plan that out now. Roughly 3 months away from my goal of 165ish. I've added 115 more Cal's per day to bring me up to 1515. With that extra I've been playingying around with different snacks like fruit and even some beef jerky today. But right now I'm thinking maybe keep potatoes for lunch and breakfast. Then…

Not quite sure what you mean. It just hangs down and I put on pants... Not much you can do, it doesn't stick out, it just hangs down. My stomach ends at about the bottom of my watch in that picture with the shirt tucked in. When I sit down it is noticeable, but standing not really. I don't tuck my shirt in 99% of the time…

Thanks! Right now wearing 38. Think they are loose enough that I can get away with a 36, if not its real close. But jeans are so over sized. My waist was 39" on the first and was wearing 38 comfortably.

Actually tried to post that a bit ago. But phone won't cooperate. Will do it when I get to a real computer after work.

Thanks! No real kick in the butt. It was more about realizing you didn't have to do anything stupid like the Adkins diet or keto or "eating clean" that kind of nonsense. It was all about math and math I can embrace. The guy from Australia that ate nothing but potato for a year woke me up. I read something about it December…

Tried to post another picture will fix it later.

Thanks again for all the nice responses! Quick update at 188 now! Man it's weird to see my ribs in the mirror or heck to tuck in a shirt and know I look okay. Still very much inside my own head about how I am still "fat and duscusting". But working on it. Size 38 jeans are a bit loose... The thought of even being able to…

Nothing I can link to off hand. But I've read that multiple times. Might be bogus, but gives me hope.

Do it for yourself and noone else. If you are doing it for other people it is all too easy to fail. Don't talk about it. If asked answer questions. But just keep your head down and working. Stop listening to the"expert" advise of friends and colleagues.

In the beginning it was very easy to have junk still sitting around and just ignore it. But now almost a year into my journey I am finding it harder to ignore the stuff. I guess it's just a matter of being so close and saying "ohhh what will one small handful of chips hurt?" Trashed all junk the other day that had been in…

Thank you for that reality check. I'm a few months away from my goal, and have been nervously starting to figure out my plan for the switch over to maintain. When you put it that way, removes quite a bit of the anxiety for me. It's no big deal, I've lost 300. 2-3 is quick and easy!

Penn jillette did potatoes for 2 weeks as a "stunt" not a year. The Australian guy was my motivation to get started. There can be something said about a simple food diet, it limits problems with too much varaity that was my down fall. Realizing that I could eat anything and still lose weight was the tipping point for me.…

The only benefit from it is cutting out snacking. Being able to say "oh only 1 hour till lunch, I can wait". Has been invaluable to me.

I'm right at 300 pound lost so far (205 this year alone). The only motivation I have needed is remembering that I am doing it for myself and noone else. Going from a 6xl t-shirt to a large in a year is pretty dang cool too! Or from size 70 pants to 40....

Not eating is always an option. Took me a while to figure that out. Go, enjoy friends and family. But eat when you get home from the party. Long trips are harder, you just have to set a plan before. I already have my week away from home planned and logged here. So I know exactly what I will be eating walking in the door.…

Ive lost over 200 pounds since January eating the majority of my diet in carbs. Calorie is all that matters. Its all math. Burn more calories than you eat and you will lose weight.
-
Well today was a big goal! 200 pounds lost since January First!!!!!! Man I am beyond excited. Doing the math, that works out to 3646 calories burned per day, eating 1400 calories a day. Time to slow it down, stop some of the exercise, and maybe bump up to 1500 per day.
-
To do the math is simple. Lets say you lost 8 pounds in 30 days, and eat 1500 calories per day. So 8 x 3500 (3500 calories is a pound) = 28000 28000 / 30 (number of days) = 933 933 + 1500 (food intake) = 2433. So in that month you were burning an average of 2433 calories per day Just change it to fit your actual numbers of…

No device at all will be accurate calorie counter. Do your own math over a period of time and that way you get a feel for what the device tells you and what is reality. I had a fit 2 for a short time and liked it enough to upgrade to a s3 to get more of a real watch feel. Really like the built in music player they both…

Way to go, that is a big milestone to hit!

Thank you, It took me a while to think of it, I tried all sorts of ways. Oven, frying pan etc, could never make it crispy in the right way if you know what I mean. So I thought try the waffle iron, and bang, perfection. As to why, the whole idea of actually kicking it in gear and making this push I read about Andrew Taylor…

Thank you all for the very nice comments! I posted it here in the thread just a few posts above yours, http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/comment/40736747/#Comment_40736747

Thank you. I'm still 35 + pounds away from goal weight. Yes lots of lose skin in the belly, but still a bunch of fat to get rid of. Insurance will cover it here in the US for medically necessary reasons, (chafing, infections and so on) but from what I understand no insurance would be in the $15,000 range. Its also a VERY…
