Samsung gear fit 2

I recently got a Samsung gear fit 2 and i love it. I think it's more accurate and better in general than my garmin.

However, for calories burned I'm not sure I trust it.
I wear it when I do an hour of crossfit. My garmin would report 400+ calories burned. MFP also estimates 400+ calorie burned. My gear fit 2 estimates 261 calories burned. Then an hour of just simple weight lifting it shows 218 calories burned. I would think my crossfit session would burn a lot more.

Anyone have similar problem or experience with this device?

I use my exercise cals as my defict so I try not to eat it back. But it's also nice knowing I can eat some back without much consequence. Now that it's showing so little burn I'm really trying not to go over my calorie goal.

I have a gear fit 2 as well. I love it!! I had the Microsoft band and went back to my gear fit 2. I find it is pretty accurate...I think :) I jog/run 4-5km every morning burn about 5-600+ calories & walk about 7km during my lunch and burn about 550 calories.

I had a Gear Fit 2 for a time. I also loved it...right up until the day the HR sensor shield came unglued during a run and I sweat into it. Even within the warranty period, Samsung wouldn't honor the warranty and replace the watch, and working with their customer service department was the most sorry experience I have ever gone through working with any company.

Sorry you wasted your money on a product whose company won't support it.

No device at all will be accurate calorie counter. Do your own math over a period of time and that way you get a feel for what the device tells you and what is reality. I had a fit 2 for a short time and liked it enough to upgrade to a s3 to get more of a real watch feel. Really like the built in music player they both have. No more phone at the gym is awesome.

I'll come back when I am on a real computer and tell you how to do the math your self. Too hard to type it on a phone.

To do the math is simple.
Lets say you lost 8 pounds in 30 days, and eat 1500 calories per day.

    So 8 x 3500 (3500 calories is a pound) = 28000
    28000 / 30 (number of days) = 933
    933 + 1500 (food intake) = 2433.

So in that month you were burning an average of 2433 calories per day
Just change it to fit your actual numbers of how much you eat per day and the time period.
I find it works better on longer spans of time, just because the body fluctuates water levels and scale variations from day to day. So I stick to a minimum or 10-15 days when checking to see where I am at. This is assuming that you are not in the first month of weight loss where alot of water weight and such happens that will throw the figures off.

Ive had my g2 and s3 since May, and even at my crazy high activity level, its usually only off around 300 or so calories per day.
