Have you tried protein bars? I find that their balanced level of carbs fats and proteins keep me going without a lot of calories ( 1 eat the 160 calorie ones). The sweetness is enough to trick my brain that I had a treat.

My husband bought me an Armani dress in size 8. It is still in my closet 6 years later. I've never worn it, but will, someday!

Thanks everyone. I realize that I will have to be vigilant the rest of my life. I have yo yo dieted for the last 50 years (literally, since I was 18 and started my first diet). I will be using MFP to help me with keeping on track. Right now I have 4 lb to go to get to my first goal. In a month I should be there.

I measured out this morning at 27% and I consider that a victory since I started at 40%.

I confess that I check my Facebook account six or seven times a day to see if anyone is talking to me.

I limit myself to one slice of whole wheat bread, cut in half it makes a nice sandwich. I just gave up cakes and cookies completely. I boost the protein with Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, and chicken with lots of salsa on top. Remember that the carbs you get from fruit can be high, especially bananas and oranges. Low carb…

Yep, I agree. That's what I do and I know unless I force myself to walk outside I'll never get over 5000.

Thanks everyone! You've given me ideas. I'm going to measure my body fat thing today. My doctor told me "it is better for older women (I am 67) to have a little more fat". That was 8 lbs. ago. I am still losing. 4.5 to my goal number.

I do 90 calories' worth of GNC protein powder in my morning coffee.

67 and trying to lose weight is infinitely harder than it was 20 years ago.

I am also low thyroid without meds. Since I have been on medication I can finally lose weight. I am no longer freezing and sleeping all of the time. I hope your doctor can help you. Since my dr. is new, she made me go off the meds I had before to find out what I was "really" like. Wow did I gain weight that month. Good…

For my morning protein I use fat free Greek yogurt mixed with cinnamon. Low calorie and high protein.

I, too, feel the community is a great support. Stick to the calorie counting for awhile and you will get back. I think it was brave to try to go without weighing for so long!

When my husband wanted to take me on a two week cruise and we had to go buy new clothes and all of them were 2 sizes bigger than I had been wearing. Also realized all of my clothes were made of stretch material.

I am up every two hours all night long as my body gets rid of the water from the evening. It makes for disturbed sleep.

Yes, the same exercise all the time will generate the SAME results. Change it up a little, and in the mean time, rejoice that you have maintained your weight at your new body shape. Most people can't do that.

In my two months of logging, I've only found the site down twice for maintenance, and never lost a thing. I'm sorry you are frustrated. This is an extremely supportive and valuable site to me. The database is wonderful, and people are always ready to answer questions.

I used to have two crown royale and diet drinks every night at cocktail hour, or 1/2 a bottle of wine. Since I started MFP I have cut back to the wine only once a week, and maybe one night of crown royale. I find the sugar from the alcohol puts my weight up the next day, but it is gone in two days. Just log these sugar…

I'm 67 and I weigh things. No big deal.
-
Most people don't eat back all the calories. And I agree that averages are better. I only exercise three times a week (I am 67 and lazy), but it averages out. Good luck. I have been a yo-yo dieter my whole adult life and am resolved to maintain this time.

Believe it or not I had my first piece of dark chocolate in 4 months yesterday, and it was not at all good. Not satisfying, not sweet, and not worth the 60 calories. I will have an apple instead.
-
protein bars and apples

I was in the 150/130 range before I lost 20 lbs. Last reading was 117/75. The weight loss really makes a difference. I have also cut back on salt at the table.

I have always found that vodka, wine, etc. makes me hold water the next day, so you may want to watch for a slight gain on the day after you drink. But at 67 calories for a shot of vodka, it's not bad. 500 calories is a lot, though.
-
That is great! What an inspiration.
-
Eating chocolate to extremes, and the weight gain, along with constant heartburn.
-
Wow! Way to go. You give me hope.
-
how much is a "stone" I'm from Florida.
-
Greek yogurt, chicken breasts, brussel sprouts.

I found that any sugar at all, even from a glass of wine, would make my weight stall or go up. I recommend that you cut back or eliminate sugar.
