So I guess my general question is about changing to carb cycling once I transition into maintenance. How much sense does it make to change what's been working for ~5 months? Is it worth giving it a shot?
-
@deannalfisher So I didn't mean to imply that low carb was required to lose weight, in fact I think I said that I know carb cycling can be effective. I don't think you understood my question

@celestestar I'd already planned for the tacos, they'd been worked into my meal for the day. It was that damn trifle...

"You're an inspiration to everyone in here"-the guy next to me on the treadmill in the gym

I don't think I've eaten more than two, and my faves are frosted cherry and smores, depending on what I'm in the mood for
-
If I eat <1 hour before, I usually do 1-3 apple cinnamon rice cakes with peanut butter. It may just be a mental thing, but I feel like I get a good amount of energy. I also drink bcaas during workouts, which provides energy

I like quest and Atkins. Power crunch bars are good too

I am happy! Thank you

@daworley thank you

Thank you so much! It was quite a journey
-
@katadx well my options are relatively limited. My priority was to switch to a gym that was 24/7, as my previous gym was not, and I was trying at all costs to avoid planet fitness, which in my area was not 24/7 anyway. It was not urgent at first, but then I had an issue at my previous gym that motivated me to speed up the…

For the record, she is a registered dietician. She's got an RD addendum and promotes herself as a dietician/nutritionist. So no one who has responded has advice as to what else I can discuss with her? I'm going to see her, so any points other than "don't go" would be helpful and appreciated.

@bizgirl26 thank you!
-
@bizgirl26 Haha, thank you, but I lost about 45. I guess that's better than the alternative, losing 100 pounds and people thinking it's only 45

I log my weight weekly, regardless of if it's a loss or a gain, as I don't see day to day fluctuations as particularly relevant
-
@Bex953172 thank you so much! It was so important to get back to doing things that I enjoyed and that made me happy. Once my mind was right I was able to get my body right
-
@jen12143 thank you! I really have worked very hard
-
Thank you! I'm honestly working to get that smaller, looking to lose about 2 more inches, but I'm happy with my progress
-
A plain bagel and veggie cream cheese from panera! Was able to get it to fit in my macros, still under 100g carbs for the day
-
I'm very proud of myself, and I know losing weight is healthy, that's why I'm doing it. I don't think you understood my post, but then it was geared more toward women
-
Thank you! Also, not that it really matters, but the picture is not actually from 2004, the camera just wasn't programmed for the correct date. It's more like 2008

I stick to tracking and planning daily, don't take weekends off. For me, I plan a week ahead, so I log out my day in advance. Things may adjust a little on the day of, but for the most part, I stick to what I plan out. It's almost easier for me to track on the weekends because I feel like I have more time, so that's when I…

I actually just posted here about the opposite problem. I'd been an hourglass forever then I gained and lost weight and now I'm more like a pear shape
-
You look great! And already lifting 3x per week, but I'm looking into starting either Strong Curves or Thinner leaner stronger for more structure. I've definitely been pushing myself with the weights
-
That's exactly what I'm experiencing now. And coincidently, my waist is 29" and my hips are 41", so I've got a 12" difference too, haha. But ya, I've gained about 50 pounds since I was about 17 and I'm knocking on 30 now and have lost 44. My body is definitely looking more pear shaped
-
Thank you, this is super helpful!
-
I know that things change as you get older, I said this in my original post, it's not that I'm confused about biology. I was just looking for people with similar experiences
-
I'm not in my 40s, so ya
-
I know it doesn't, I think I even said that in my original post, so no apology necessary. I guess I was just disappointed and looking to see if others had similar experiences.
