Fitness-iversary!
My 2 year fitness-iversary was this past week. On November 29, 2016, I joined a gym and made a comittment of living a healthier lifestyle. Two years later, I’m proud to say that i am adhering to said comittment. Hoping for many more years to come!

Maintenanc-iversary
So excited to show off my first year Maintenance-iversary! I declared maintenance on May 16, 2017. I’m not as toned as i was then and about 5 pounds heavier, so still work to do, a work in progress if you will, but I’m going in the right direction!

More weight!
So throughout the majority of my life, I’ve never been particularly fond of weighing myself. Although I’ve been fit for most of my life, I’ve never liked focusing on the number. This was particularly amplified for the ~2 years where i was at my heaviest. So jump to the point... about a year ago, maybe 11/02/16, i had my…

Vacation surprise!
I just got back from my week long vacation this afternoon. I pretty much ate what I wanted the entire time including ice cream sundaes, pizza, candy, etc. but I worked out every day pretty much doing the same routine I do at home though I had to improvise some. And I continued to track everything. I went over my caloric…

Crop tops galore!
So I am making the conscious decision that, since I've lost over 50lbs, I am going to commit to wearing crop tops all summer. I refuse to wear full coverage tops if I don't have to! In all serious, I was fit before and totally took it for granted. With all of the hard work I've put in and the dedication to the journey, I…

Missed weigh-in
Struggles/successes-So I'm on vacation as we speak, and I usually weigh in on mondays, but since I'm away from home, wasn't able to get it in. So this is my substitute for my first July maintainer post. It's probably just as well, as of course we've been eating out a lot and I'm sure I'm maintaining a ton of water due to…

Need support/validation
Guess I could've posted this in the support forum but regardless, I transitioned to maintenance about 4 weeks ago. I've been doing very well to follow my food plan but have also started to loosen up a bit which is good for me. However, I'm just feeling anxious this week. I had a planned cheat of McDonald's on Wednesday,…

Macro breakdown
What percentages do folks use for maintenance? I know everyone's different and everyone's bodies and goals are varied, but I was just curious

Weather and weight
Have people noticed they've lost more weight when it's hotter out? I feel like you sweat more when it's hot and thus lose more water weight, but I don't know if that's actually a thing. I'm hoping it is because my weight has been trending significantly downward the past few days, but we've been experiencing a heatwave here…

Maintenance calories off?
So I've only been maintaining for about 3 weeks now, but I seem to have done well to maintain my weight for the past two weeks successfully, like within a pound. I'm eating about 1700-1800 calories a day. What's confusing is that the exercise I'm doing is supposed burning about 500-700 calories daily, which has me netting…

High protein snacks
I eat string cheese and jerky. I also like the oscar Mayer p3 protein packs and some protein bars. What other high protein snack type foods do people like?

Vacation woes
So I've already posted about maintenance while on vacation, but I had another question. Does anyone travel with anything special (shakes/powder, bands, food scale, etc.) when going on vacation to support maintenance?

Water weight? (Ladies)
How much weight did folks gain after transitioning from weight loss to maintenance that you attributed to water retention? I've gained about a pound and a half after the first week of maintenance and was told that I would gain some weight after increasing my calories and carbs, so I'm on track, I'm just hoping to level out…

Too much protein?
So when I was losing weight, I had been eating a ton of protein, about 1g per pound of body weight. However, as I have lost weight, my body weight is considerably less than it had been (duh). I've just transitioned to maintenance and I don't want to change my diet too much as I am just starting, but I wonder if I should…

My unique journey (w/ pics)
After months of exploring these forums and learning about other people's stories, I've cometo find that my story is a bit different. I was not always overweight. I do not have a history of yoyo-ing. I have, however, always struggled to have a positive body image. I was trim and fit most of my adult life, but I was never…

Fear of carbs!
So I just transitioned into maintenance today (yay!) and I've planned my week out fully in my diary. I met with an RD in preparation to transition, and we both agreed that adding a few more carb rich items to my daily menu wouldn't hurt. I'd been sticking to low carb (under 100g a day) during weight loss and didn't feel…

Pan searing
Quick question, how do you guys log cooking oil when you're pansearing? Do you put it in as its own ingredient? Do you create a recipe for each thing and put it in that way? What do people think?

20's success stories. Where my emerging adults at?!
Albeit we haven't been around as long as others, we still have struggles to overcome and stories that should be heard. What's yours? (Copying and pasting from my previous post so as not to retype the whole thing)

Foods to add
Out of curiosity, What foods did folks add to their diets when transitioning from weight loss to maintenance? I'm planning to add a lot more fruit (I'd been focused on berries and the occasional apple during weight loss), trail mix, and potatoes among other things. Me and my dietician both agree to add healthy carbs to my…

Nutritionist advice?
I've made an appointment with a nutritionist to help support my transition into maintenance/recomp. I plan to print and bring a few days worth of my food diary, either print or describe my current workout regimen, and bring my notebook where I record my weight and measurements. I have tons of questions for her regarding my…

Maintenance on vacation
I am about 5lbs away from my maintenance goal, but I am going on vacation in early July and was hoping for some tips about maintaining while on vacation. My plan is to be in maintenance by then, and I certainly want to be able to relax, but I don't want to ruin any of my hard work up to this point. I plan to workout in the…

Show us your abs!
Mine are finally starting to come in, after about 46lbs down in about 6 months. Still got work to do but super excited about my progress

Carb cycling?
I've lost almost 50lbs since December and I'm about to transition into recomp. I've been doing a lot of research to prepare to transition, and I am also meeting with a personal trainer and an RD. Throughout this whole journey, I've read about carb cycling for weight loss, but I just stuck with a low carb diet (< 100g a…

The FOMO is real!
My office has celebrations multiple times a month for many reasons and for no reasons. Today was a Cinco de Mayo taco celebration, for example. But Mardi Gras, Black history month, national waffle day, everything. And nothing! Random ice cream socials and grilled cheese days. For me, I sometimes feel like if I don't…

Success story on Facebook!(pic included)
This was a super tough decision, and I'm still overwhelmed with all kinds of emotions as we speak and bordering tears, but I posted my success story to Facebook. Can't believe I actually did that, such a supremely personal journey, but I'm so proud of my journey and ready for to make it public!

Switching gyms
I went to my first day at a new gym today, and I loved the gym, and I simultaneously struggled with my regular workout. Same workout I do everyday, same level of intensity that I'm currently at, but had a lot of trouble getting through. Not hyper concerned about it, the physical atmosphere was different than my previous…

My hourglass ladies...
Have you noticed a change in your figure since you've lost weight? I was a solid, fit hourglass in my teens and early 20s, then I gained a significant amount of weight through my mid to late 20s. I've just lost about 44 pounds in the past four months and am almost down to my high school weight, but I feel like my curves…

Best breakfast cereals??
I'm about to be entering maintenance and I pretty much have a few meals that are my go-tos for breakfast lunch and dinner. While I plan to eat those often, one thing I have missed eating is breakfast cereal. I'd like to add that back, maybe once a week, not sure. I know they're not super healthy, but which ones do people…
