Same thing happened to me! From what I've read online, this is due to initial water retention, as others have stated above. I don't buy that I've added that much muscle. But I went from sedentary to active, and this creates water retention that will go away! Hang in there!

Feel free to add me!

I was JUST watching this video, I think you'll find it fascinating. The guy is a type 1 diabetic with hashimoto's. Check it out. I also have Hashi's and I am pre-diabetic so I am trying to find all the info I can to reverse it!! http://www.masteringdiabetes.org/reverse-insulin-resistance-presentation/

Feel free to add me. I used to be a nighttime eater, too. Sometimes I still do it, but now it's occasionally rather than most of the time. I really had to understand how bad night eating really was for me. What I do now is I close out my food diary after my evening snack (around 7pm). Then I turn out all the lights in the…

Welcome, Susan! Feel free to add me. I'm on a mission to drop 50 pounds by my birthday in September (and probably more after that, we'll see). You can do it.
-
Hi Jo, I understand how you're feeling - I am also insulin resistant and trying to reverse it before it gets worse. I'll send you a friend request.

Yes, I do have an endocrinologist and will be discussing with her, of course. Just looking for insight from the community in addition to the work I'm doing with my doctors. Thank you for the links!

Thanks, Jane. Yes, I realize veganism doesn't require being low fat or low protein - this is the plan that I've read will help increase my insulin sensitivity, to eat at the 70/15/15 macro level. Anyway, thank you for weighing in! I'm definitely going to meet with a dietician, too.

Try La Croix coconut flavor. It isn't sweet, but it just has that ESSENCE of coconut that makes it tastes really good. To me, at least!

Yep, I'm both hypo and hashi's too! I'm on levothyroxine and it does help, but man! So annoying!

Thank you, yeah, haven't had much water lately. But just seems odd. It happened again this morning. :/

I've just started doing the 16/8 thing too, today. Add me!

Hi there! Friend me if you'd like, I'm working on losing 50, myself!
-
Always!

How's everyone doing today? Add me if you'd like! I'm about a week in, and down 3 pounds so far. I'm working on my goal of losing 50 by my birthday, September 10th. Most days it feels 'easy' but it only takes one day to NOT feel so 'easy' and then everything seems to fall apart for me. Hoping to stop the self-sabotage this…

Thank you! And LOL the peeps!

I can't tell. But probably? :)

I just wanted to say -- don't give up. I was in the same place as you about six months ago, before I found MFP. I was trying to do keto and thought I was doing SO well and finally got on the scale but hadn't lost a thing. It discouraged me so much that I just gave up and gained more weight. Stay here, try the food scale,…

Give me an add! I will take all the new friends I can get!

I'm 5'3.

Thank you! I appreciate all of the insight. I've read so many books, blogs, listened to so many podcasts...I feel like I know what to do, I just want it to work!! Maybe the trick is patience. And measurements.
-
Ok, thanks for your insight. I loved the keto foods but was so frustrated not losing any weight and kept seeing MEN and younger women successful with it. Glad to know you were successful!

Hi everyone! Glad to be here. Looking for inspiration, accountability, and friendship! I'm 43, single, Seattle, and DETERMINED to get fit. Add me!

Me! I'm an MFP baby!

Oooh, someone adopt me! :) 43 years old in Seattle. I'm a clean eater, but I've always eaten too MUCH. I came to MFP yesterday, logged my first day of food and was blown away by how all of the little things I was eating were really adding up -- a bit too much olive oil here, an extra serving of ground turkey there, a soy…
