Hashimotos & Type 1 Diabetes

Hi friends,
I'm a 31 year old lady in Los Angeles. I was diagnosed with Hashimotos in 2011 and Type 1 Diabetes in 2014. I'm 134 lbs and - after 2 years of counting my calories - I'm at a complete impasse. This is about 10-15 lbs heavier than I've ever been. It's super frustrating that every time I complete an entry the app tells me I'd be 15 lbs lighter in 5 weeks.
Hashimotos made it a little harder to manage my weight, but it has really been since type 1 diabetes that I haven't been able to budge no matter what I do diet / exercise wise. Upping my dosage for thyroid medication hasn't helped.
I eat low carb and under 1200 calories. I do an intense yoga practice or dance class every day - Every. Day - burning ~450 to 600 calories. I feel awful about myself - can't look in the mirror or date.
Anyone out there able to lose weight while dealing with metabolic disorders? I know it's tough, but I'm hoping there's some success out there.

I was JUST watching this video, I think you'll find it fascinating. The guy is a type 1 diabetic with hashimoto's. Check it out. I also have Hashi's and I am pre-diabetic so I am trying to find all the info I can to reverse it!! http://www.masteringdiabetes.org/reverse-insulin-resistance-presentation/0

Maybe try a different thyroid medication (ask doctor, pharmacist, specialist)? Those can be tricky, even when trying to switch to a generic version. How are the other thyroid-related symptoms?0

The book Dr Bernstein's Diabetes Solution may work for you. He is a T1D and diabetes doctor whose plan is for his patients to have normal BG, and lower insulin needs, which helps regulate weight. Great book for T1Ds and T2Ds who are willing to do some dietary changes.
ETA I have Hashis, a couple other autoimmune issues, and insulin resistance. I lost 40lbs on his plan with relative ease. I regained 10lbs this winter when my thyroid function slowed again, but after upping meds, it's falling off again.0 -
I'm a type 1 with hashimoto too. I was diagnosed with diabetes in 2014 at the age of 40. I was just diagnosed with hashimoto. Even before the underactive thyroid diagnosis I couldn't lose weight. My endo told me it would be hard to lose weight due to the insulin. I eat a 1200 cal low carb (20 carbs a day) diet and exercise 4 days a week. My weight has been stuck at 155 since leaving the hospital with the diabetes diagnosis. Recently my weight has jump up to 160's. I'm still eating the same and exercising. I haven't started any thyroid medications yet because I want to explore other options like acupuncture. I'm not experiencing thyroid symptoms right now. I've joined some thyroid groups on facebook and I'm terrified to start medication after reading what some of the women are experiencing. The weight gain from the medication is a big one.
