You'll love it - I can't say enough positive things about kettlebells. It's really important to get your form right so start on the light ones, 4kg at our gym. You'll be on an 8kg so quickly but the first 2 or even 3 lessons you shouldn't worry about weight. I do most of my kettlebell workouts at home and go into a class…

I wear normal gym clothes, some take their own saddle (including my brother) and some wear cycling shorts. I only do spin twice a week and can't say I find the saddle that bad.

I don't get stressed about missing a workout but I do seem to feel sluggish and down if I miss the gym. I do kettlebells swings everyday but a rest day from the gym still includes walking or running at a slower pace. My husband was an athlete in his day and still runs everyday, often twice. When he's injured I could easily…

Yep I was tested for allergies and since going gluten and wheat free my pain as but almost gone. Due to another allergy I had already cut out most sugar 20 years previous but when I was told I needed to be GF and WF I also cut out 95% of sugar cutting out the most sweet fruit. Once the pain started to go I started at the…

Fab effort - in just 4 months

Kettlebells - cardio and strength in one. Lots of women take classes at my gym (men too) I find it more interesting then free weights. I like that I can use them at home and they are quick and easy to use.

Kettlebells are easy to use at home, deliver a good burn for a short workout, don't take up much room.

I'm taking part in a 10 mile 80's midnight walk dressed in 80's gym clothes for a cancer charity 8th July and I really wanted to be strong and lean.

Hi I'm 43 and mum of 4 all by sections. Well done on your weight loss. Although heavier, bigger before MFP my starting weight 20th Feb was 173lbs CW is 163.2lbs GW is 145lbs but that might change as I'm using Kettlebells and i'm dropping inches faster than the scale so my GW may change.

I'm 43, a mum of 4 and all by c- section. I have lost the apron. Noticed it had finally gone this week. My last section was 6 years ago. To be honest due to other illness I only really got back into KB's seriously since Christmas and heavy bells since I started MFP 5 weeks ago. I always wondered if I would ever be able to…

Not sure if it's what you need but I use 'swing timer' for my kettlebells which is free and 5* and my husband and daughter now use it for their sprint sessions. It has alerts but vibrates as well so perfect for them too

I just set it up as my own exercise. I was told at the KB studio that HRM don't register KB workouts very well. I workout very hard and usually register between 15-18 cal burn to be safe. You need a Weight that is challenging and as someone else said doing the snatch or swing. Also you could do other moves in between swing…

Kettlebells - strength and cardo in one and I love them. I am now moving up to 16kg and the inches are falling off. Since Christmas I'm down 3 dress sizes. I'm at a calorie deficit of 500 calories. I read loads of things on here saying do strength and diet together was more successful than just cardo and it's true, I've…

Yep my overhang over my c-section scare has gone, (noticed a couple of days ago) I've still got more belly fat to go but the over hang but is not there. I used kettlebells and it really works when you use a weight that is not too easy. Started at 8kg, then 12kg now starting to move up to 16kg. Just did the basic KB swing.…

I am working with kettlebells (25lb) and omg my arms are defo changing for the better. I still have weight to drop but the kettlebells are defiantly helping to change my shape faster than the scale is moving.

Kettlebells - if you we're flat out for 10 minutes doing swings you could be burning 200 cals with afterburn added in. Obviously you need a good weight nothing too easy.

Well my doctor put me on a gluten free lifestyle and wheat free. Amazing results. I now go to the gym everyday, heavy lift kettlebells and you wouldn't know I'd had such trouble even walking last year . The pain was worse in my feet and then hands and knees. The pain everywhere else wasn't great but bearable. The pain in…

Hi I do Bodypump and was really excited about it but although you can go up to say 25kg (each end) that's it. It did get me interested in heavy lifting though. I have been using kettlebells for a few years but never pushing myself beyond 8kg. Then last week found this thread. Fantastic!!!! I had never thought of going…

My doc said eggs are fine and medical advice has now changed. I have chickens in my back garden so a good supply. I eat 2-3 a day normally for breakfast, have done for the last 20 years

I should add my diet is spot on I eat loads of veggies and fruit, good fats, nuts, seeds, fish and meat. Oh and I still put on weight even without added sugar I consumed too many Calories but not now thanks to logging.

After an operation I now have an allergic reaction to sugar. It's more annoying than a health issue. Even some fruit is a trigger. Many years ago I thought enough was enough. So I just cut added sugar from my diet after about 4/6 weeks you end up not even wanting it. Anything sweet just tastes like treacle to me now. I can…

Oh that's not good - you should enjoy the enjoy the gym for it to work. Could you have done a bit too much too soon. I really push myself but not on the first few visits as it was all new to me Well done you for making the effort, that first time of walking into the unknown is the hardest.

I love kettlebells for the results you get. I just up the weight of the kettlebell. Just ordered a 35lb/16kg. Tomorrow I'm doing a double kettlebell workout at the gym (hopefully I 'll be able to do some of it)
