  • sorry you struggle with this too. yeah it’s so annoying i don’t want to log the rest of my life but i also don’t want to gain all this weight. loose tracking does seem like a good idea. hope that works out for you :)!
  • yah i actually prelog my meals for the entire week. unfortunately it doesn’t seem to help with the obsessiveness. and logging on the fly just gives me anxiety :( but yes definitely going to incorporate diet breaks. looking forward to that! :)
  • I have heard of this and I definitely think this could be a good transition tool for me when I stop tracking. Yah I want to do the banking thing but my obsessive tendencies overpower and i eat what I planned for the day so I can be sure to hit each macro as perfect as possible. Thank you for these sugggestions though. I…
  • thank you so much for your comment! i completely understand what you’re saying and it’s helpful to hear from someone who also feels that fear of not living black or white because it’s all i know. it’s hopeful to know that it’s possible but i know it’ll require a lot of work on my part. i really appreciate your feedback and…
  • Yah, we are holding off as long as possible. Problem being I feel if I don’t really get my weight under control, i’ll keep gaining and she’ll sew and then day of wedding it won’t zip. I realize there’s an element here of me overreacting but unfortunately these are real fears for me that I feel only engaging in these…
  • I hear ya. I think the sustainability factor is crucial. And ya I hear ya on trying to find something that fits your lifestyles and helps you keep aligned with your goals.
  • Haha yeah, it’s definitely a fool proof method that helps you get through the dieting process without feeling deprived. Haha yes I too am in that hybrid shark hobbit category 😅
  • Exactly like I thinking looking it a tool that provides the guidance and direction needed it’s better than using it a complete lifeline. One thing I noticed with IE, which I realize could be applied to macros in a sense, was that I would eat when I was hungry and obviously not when I wasn’t. When tracking macros I get so…
  • Thanks so much! I know, I’ve gone this route before and binges did occur. It’s almost like I think “oh this time will be different”. I keep telling myself to go ham for these 2 months and then find a balance / healthy way to maintain :/ appreciate the well wishes though!! :)
  • Haha yeah it’s actually super exhausting! My mom is actually making my dress so at some point she’s going to need to sew and won’t be able to make drastic alterations so I’m terrified I’m not going to fit if I don’t get my eating under control.
  • Exactly! Best of luck on your journey. The good thing about macros is it’s a basically guaranteed method for weight loss (of course so is generalized calorie counting) but macros help with ensuing you don’t lose too much muscle. Let me know if you ever have any questions - i’d be happy to help if i can.
  • Sorry - IE = intuitive eating Yes, I probably should be more open with her. I’m so conscious of what other people think of me but need to realize she is there to help not judge >.< Good point about looking at it as a management tool. I hope I can learn to reframe my thinking to that so I can stop it from becoming an…
  • @kgirlhart ahh okay, makes sense.
  • I was just curious, how many people here who are maintaining are doing so through eating mindfully vs. still weighing/tracking food intake?
  • @kaygold you are so welcome :) let me know how you like them!
  • @hgycta yah! i think she has some ambassadors so they have discount codes, so it's like $3.00 off and yes it always works B)
  • @kaygold hey! so for the soda option it's 60g of the cake mix (serving size) with 90ml of seltzer/diet soda. for the brownie version, it's 60g cake mix, 10g dark chocolate cocoa powder, 100g pumpkin puree, 2 tbsp eggwhites and 1/4 cup milk. you can also follow the packaged recipe on the back of the bag and substitute the…
  • @melissa6771 yes! not a fan of their frosting recipes either - I rather save the macros for the real deal, or lately, i've been having fro yo which is an awesome combo. yes! I actually usually do the diet coke (seltzer actually) version since it's even easier and taste-wise, very comprable. although last night, using the…
  • @melissa6771 yes! it's online only. an instagrammer i follow has a promo code so if you enter ALEX, it'll get you money off :)! yes, I get the cocoa crave and the fit fetti. there's a ton of recipes on their blog too so this one was the cocoa crave brownie version (adding pumpkin and cocoa powder)
  • I'm from North Jersey where we have UNREAL Italian joints with the most amazing pizza basically on every corner. It's a blessing and a (weight loss) curse.
  • @whitpauly haha yes!! they’ve become a staple in my diet
  • I really hope to get to this point. Ive been tracking macros for nearly three years. No old timer, but enough that it’s become obsessive. I can totally relate on the eating because calories are available vs. eating to my true hunger. I know you can carry over macros as long as your week averages out, but for me I need to…
  • Lil buff protein cakes have been a life changer! I’ve been on a cocoa crave kick. Great macros and more importantly the taste. I did the brownie version tonight and it seriously delivered. Solid source of fiber too :) Would be even more amazing with a smudge of frosting, peanut butter or some vanillla ice cream/fro yo.
  • I think I'm following but forgive me if my response shows otherwise. So now I understand that "low calorie" meals can be a trap (for me). Are they just an excuse to keep eating portion sizes that are unreasonable in the first place? For me it's like, "I want a different outcome, but don't ask me to change how I feel about…
  • Italian: extra cheesy and meaty lasagna Chinese: chicken chow fun Fruit: black berries Vegetable: sweet potato Dessert: chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream icing Ice Cream flavour: cookie dough Crisp flavour: regular Favourite Cheat Meal: cheeseburger and fries or full blown hibachi dinner (can't choose!) • thanks so much for your feedback! yes i do wake up ravenous and try waiting till at least 10am for breakfast, this helps me then push lunch out till 2 then i try to structure heavier carb intake pre and post work out. i like planning treats at night too so it’s another reason i try pushing off breakfast as late as i can. i…
  • agreed - i think it’ll be much easier on me mentally. that definitely seems to be the consensus. i think i’m finally coming to terms with being on team slow and steady. thanks so much ! <3
  • yeah, i’ve always had trouble recognizing and honoring true hunger but i’m hoping to get better with that. yeah i typically gravitate towards higher fat/protein. i am lifting four times a week and cardio 2/3 times. i assumed that since i have been averaging about 1 lb a week loss, these numbers were good based on my…
