Okay this topic is a very sensitive one, so right off the start I'll admit that I don't believe in spot reduction. I'm fully convinced the fat cells are created when needed in spots predetermined by genetics. This study finds interesting results but I find the Upper Body vs. Lower Body split a bit too broad. Whereas the…

Inspiring, really good work!

Blew my own expectations in 2017 and walked not 1200+ miles in my 1k mile run/walk/crawl challenge.

Unfortunately as disappointing as this is, you simply cannot target fat loss. You simply have to continue to shed weight till your body switches to the fat reserves in your belly. Trust me I know cuz been there. Actually i'm kinda still there. That being said, you not hitting your protein goal is something you should work…

Many things. 1) I hurt my knee's meniscus playing college soccer, I hurt both my ankles as a kid. It was dreadful to imagine growing old and fat with these. 2) I was 25 having the level of athleticism of an 85. 3) I hated my body. 4) Since I was a child I was fascinated by people able to run long distances. And by any…

I got the reverse situation. Today is rest day. And I ended up working out :| My excuse is I got up at 6AM. And couldn't just stay in bed.

Except when you have actual cardio related goals. Sometimes I hop in the gym aiming for a number of calories (did that Sunday as a challenge for example) or distance related if you run. In those cases, fatigue may make things really difficult for you. But I see your point in the case that your aim in cardio is just getting…

Cardio before lifting will reduce your strength output during your lifting sets. Imho, there's no correct answer to this question, it all depends on your goals (short term goals even). If you want to focus on weight loss while creating some muscle mass yes, do your cardio before lifting. If you are attempting to gain…

The olive oil I use on my salad because I use 1 table spoon at best, also the seasoning because it's really useless.
-
Yes that is correct. So if I get this correctly, you think I should still keep on cutting till there's no thickness to that pouch right?

Hello there, if undereating means you eat below your maintenance calories (i.e. the calories your body spends throughout the day) then no, it shouldn't backfire unless you overdo it (meaning you eat below 1000 calories per day). I'd recommend you take it slowly at first, and gradually decrease your caloric intake as it…

I surely hope so too, I'm doing everything I can to help my body but we'll just have to wait and see
-
Well thank you for your input ! I'll just go into maintenance and see how it goes.
-
Hmm, yea there's load of skin excess there, but there's also some fat visible in the second picture especially. I'm really hesitant as to whether I should just go to maintenance already or even go on a bulk cycle or see this thing through :confounded:

I can't eat before workout. I beat the gym crowd by going at around 6 AM so I go out with a coffee cup in my hand and that is it. After workout, I get my breakfast and it suits me well so far as I'm famished after a good workout :)
-
I weigh in in my underwear. Whatever it is that you choose, just try to be consistent with it :)
-
I woke up in a really bad mood and felt achy everywhere, but still hit the gym before work and even made a PR ^_^
-
Well this was really a useful post, you gotta love the MFP community  Thank you all !
-
Makes sense, I'll definitely get on that asap ! Thanks for the help :)
-
You're probably right. But will deadlifting alone improve my grip strength or would I need to add some accessory work like farmer's walk ?
-
^ Basically it's total calorie input that matters the most, not when or how you eat it. You can set up your meals on mfp to reflect that you eat on 4 different occasions if you think that'd help you track better.

Experimenting is the only way to know for sure.

I walked in the free weights area filled with buffed dudes and performed my exercises. This took ages to get done been limiting myself to machines and cardio but finally I'm there
-
Fair enough! Thanks! :)

Which one is it now? I'm really interested in this but the two recommendations are sorta contradictory :/
