  • It should be viewed as a reward for sticking with your diet all week. It does take discipline though. My cheat meal is usually a burger, I use the get a combo, now I don't even want the fries, and burgers are getting less of a go to, because I don't want the bread. If you have a cheat enjoy it, then hit the next week hard…
  • I still track everything, mainly to keep myself on track. I also my activity, because I also believe at the end of the day, it comes down to calories in vs calories out.
  • Had a friend do it, she said worked well for her. Also swears she will never buy a can of broth again.
  • Welcome back to the Paleo world. I am almost to my goal weight, but don't see myself veering away. I feel so much better and have only been at for just under two months. I just wanted a more healthy lifestyle. The nice again, welcome to the group.
  • I do enjoy my cheat meal, but always feel guilty. My cheat meals are are actually becoming more healthy and I guess eventually will just be another Paleo meal.
  • Agree the Walmart in the town I live in caters to everything except a healthy life style. Even though I can't find organic/grain fed beef I try to stick to the healthiest options I can find. Shop the outside isles, all of the bad stuff is in the middle. Stay strong a feel great about yourself for the smallest amount of…
  • As much as I like to cook, I suck at meal planning. That's why I'm trying to start cooking big meals for the week. Plan once eat all week.
  • I'll look it up, Often I buy a rotisserie chicken from the deli and eat on it for a few days. Thanks for the reference. I love that book.
  • Sadly, I live in a small town in South Mississippi and the closest natural foods places are an hour of so away. So it's great when I'm traveling to be near a Whole Foods or World Market...

  • It's great, the more people we get the more participation, discussions and ideas. It's great.
  • Going to Whole Foods tomorrow, I'll have stock up. Thanks for sharing the link.
  • Maybe coconut flour, might taste kinda different....could be good. I'll just save the real stuff for cheat meal.
  • The argument is that low-intensity aerobic training will allow your body to use more fat as an energy source, thereby accelerating the loss of body fat. ... Although the fat burning zone burns a higher percentage of fat of the total calories expended, it does not burn more calories than training in high intensity.
  • Yeah, I'm doing mine in mason jars, but may go online and find something like you would do kimchi in, not sure if it'd make a big difference, but if it's this good in jars, I can imagine how it'd turn out in something designed for the fermentation process. Any ideas?
  • Yeah, pasta is definitely a good cheat meal. Do you make you own pasta. I make my own, it's so simple, and I know exactly what in it. If I really want to cheat I'll make a shrimp alfredo, but mostly make a basil pesto instead, because I feel guilty if I go all out. But that's what cheats are for. Once a week, one meal.
  • Thanks for sharing, I hope as the group grows we can get some really great discussions going.
  • Kmf91604, that's the great thing I discovered about Paleo. We can tailor it to fit on on needs. It's not a one size fits all program. Don't get discourage, and if you have to, ease into it. I went all in and it was tough, after the first month, I introduced a few things back in to my diet, but now things are a treat, not a…
  • I started the whole30 and about half way in I ran across a book call "Practicals Paleo" really good book, with a ton of information. There are sections dedicated to different conditions. Check it out in you get the chance. Myself, retired from the Army about 13 years ago. The day I retired I weighed 198. At the end of…
  • Try a hand full of spinach, it doesn't change the flavor much, then you can work into zucchini and cherry tomatoes.
