old what's her name and i always cook together. we had the skids in there with us too when they were growing up. now all 3 boys are really good cooks.

i did and didn't and do again. my crock pot is a gas grill. i go to that huge membership place and buy a protein of the week which is stretched over a few weeks. i portion it, marinate it, grill it and cool it. then i vacuum seal a couple of portions together in each sealed bag and freeze it. i keep a rotation of chicken…

aha! i'm the king of cheap. sort of. i like this way of looking at it. bad health is a pretty good motivator but add in bad financial sense and it just got a little easier.

rice and beans. the gross out (grocery outlet). cassoulet 50 ways. whatever is cheap in the meat section and freeze it by portion/meal size. as said the veggie stocks don't get tossed, shave them and make a slaw. instead of couch surfing try dinner table surfing. when you make a list stick to it.

thanks everybody.

this is all good advice. i was really good a few months ago about planning and prepping meals. time is always a factor. i agree that it's the way to go.

what is your problem? find another site if this one is not doing it for you. as arnold would say...stop whining.

i set mfp to active. i use fb to track activity. i set my actinity on mfp to active and log all food and water. i always start with a deficit from fb because the setting on the app have a higher calorie burn. i generally eat under the earned calorie intake unless the earned calories are more than the set amount. i find fb…

i'm thinking maybe you should just go get a cheeseburger and give up. maybe a shake too. either that or quit whining and do some research.

none of us were born a huge tub of goo yet there we went. it didn't pack on overnight and it sure won't go away overnight. hang in there, don't give up and don't panic. start by getting off the couch and doing less. less eating, less worrying about the speed of loss. like buffalogal and paula say get in the boat and row.

calorie deficit. i like intermittent fasting as well. if you measure what you eat and stick to eating under your budget i say you will look at carbs differently. they can be a huge waste of counted calories. eliminate box food and fast food completely. make everything from scratch. know your food and you won't need any…

exactly.

i'm sure it only took you 3 month to pack on the pounds right? wrong. if you're looking for a quick fix keep looking. the best thing is to eat in a way that makes you feel good. as in clean food not junk. that is a good distraction for weight loss. one morning you put on the same old clothes and they'll fit differently.…

what ninebuff said. 3 days isn't even started yet. talk to the doc but give it a chance.

chef in a private school. everything cooked fresh down to the beets on the salad bar. no sugar on campus - meaning beverages too. infused water. tons of fresh fruit. house made granola. organic dairy. no hidden ingredients because we make it from scratch. a hungry kid is distracted and not paying attention. medical…

i got some juicer from bed bath and whatever for $300. it is a masticating gadget and produces a pretty dry pulp. carrot, ginger, beet with greens, parsley. i always through in apple, pear or even grapes for some sweetness. i don't juice kale ever because i eat it whole just about every day in one meal or another.

it sounds like most people didn't find it sustainable and fell away from it. yes?
-
does that really say $97 per month? i imagine it's totally worth it if it works for you. i don't know if i have the time and brain power to get into it. my schedule typically has me out the door at 4:00 am and home around 7:00 pm. i'll have to look at it more closely.

are you serious or not? the suggestions given above are all based on the poster's successful experience. here's mine. * get a scale and weigh everything including liquids. * track EVERYTHING. * stop eating packaged food - cook what you eat. don't eat conveniently, eat mindfully. stay away from processed food. * pick your…
