  • I look forward to running because of podcasts! It's the only time I listen to them so it's a treat. I really like "locked up abroad" right now.
  • Congrats on your weight loss! I'm in the same boat! Lost about 20 pounds to get down to 125 (also 5'3'') in a year. I have consistently exercised (running and popsugar body weight exercises) and still look pretty flabby at this weight. I'm now focusing more on body weight exercises to tone up (insanity and popsugar…
  • I'm still in but not doing it everyday cause I'm also training for a 10k! Just completed Friday Fight--it was so hard! I've already lost a pound or two and hit my goal weight of 125. Yippee. Took me about a year to lose 20 pounds. Hoping this tones up my flabby arms especially.
  • Did the tabata disc today. So. Many. Push-ups. Good stuff! Measured myself today too so I can see if I make any progress size wise in a few weeks!
  • I've spent lots of weekends and week long vacations with them. They eat and drink whatever they want--not unhealthy fast food, but maybe a whole container of chocolate almonds and 3 craft beers after dinner...they remain just as skinny as ever even as we get older.
  • I have two very thin friends. Think bony and almost nobody fat. Both of them eat much more than me and drink a ton. They don't seem to gain weight as I would. Their moms are also very thin so I think there's a genetic component to it. The women in my family are not fat, but none are lean either much like me.
  • Just borrowed from a friend. I haven't sweated this much...ever? Made it through the fit test without totally stopping but had to modify and ease up on a few moves.
  • Get a dog?! Having a high energy animal who needs daily runs or a very long walk motivates me most of the time. And it makes hiking more fun, I think.
  • I listened to a podcast recently about a person developing a meat allergy suddenly and it being caused by a tick bite. Have you eaten red meat again since the initial reaction?
  • Eat! Just don't gorge on burgers and beer, which is why I never lost weight while doing long mountain bike rides with lots of climbing!
  • I have a charge 2 and I love it! Great for tracking runs and bike rides and I think the calorie burn is accurate. Also motivates me to walk more!
  • I have had my charge 2 for about a month and mine seems spot on for calorie burn. I don't get any extra calories until after I hit 10000 steps--and then I might get 100-300 if I hit 15000 or more. I get about the right amount for jogging and biking and practically none for weight lifting and body weight exercises. I would…
  • It took me many months to get over the hungry feeling that hits between meals. Eating a fruit or veggie and a small cheese stick usually gets me by when I'm starving in the afternoon before dinner. Also I try to stay busy and out of the house as much as possible. I work from home so I started bringing my computer to our…
  • Peanut butter balls: 1/2 cup ground flax, 1/2 cup chocolate chips, 1 cup rolled oats, 1/2 cup pb, 1/3 cup honey or maple syrup. Form balls and freeze. Yummy! Kids love them!
  • Podcasts here. This American Life, Radiolab, The Daily, Serial.
  • 5'2 here and 40. I started tracking and exercising in August 2016 when I saw a picture my hubby took and couldn't stand how I looked. I was 145 and had a huge stomach and legs. Size 12 pants were snug. Since then I started jogging and doing you tube videos. I'm finally down to 132 and size 8, so it's been extremely slow…
  • Actually Denver is foodie paradise! There are pockets of amazing neighborhood restaurants. Check out The Highlands neighborhood and the LoHi area. Pearl street in South Denver (Sushi Den) and Stapleton have some amazing cuisine. Just went to Avanti the other night and it was amazing! For Mexican I recommend 7 Leguas on…
  • I was the same weight and height when I started...in late August. It took me about 7 months to drop 10 pounds! I had s similar workout routine as you too. I'm now stuck at 135 for 2-3 months. Just keep at it is my advice--the weight might come off slowly but your fitness and health will be great.
  • I like fitness blender and popsugar both free xnd on YouTube.
  • Thanks all! I mountain bike most weekends for 2-4 hours in the summer...but then I'm starving. I'll mix up my workouts more during the week and see if that helps break the plateau. I may just have to resign myself to this weight and keep in shape!
