Also 5’3’’ and lost about 29 pounds in all (20 pounds came off once I really dedicated myself -took one year). Eat less and move more worked for me! I used MFP to track food and got a general sense of my calorie intake, but didn’t weigh or measure. The biggest thing that helped is eliminating my daily beer/wine and…

After my second child I weighed an all time high of 155 (5 foot3). Lost about 10 pounds without trying too hard, but then nothing for about 5 years. Finally set out to lose the last 20 and it took about a year. It was a challenge! I had to be really strict with eating and cut back on alcohol a lot ( from a drink after work…

5’3’’ and 125 and I wear size 6 in most brands. I’m older with 2 kids so imagine that has something to do with my larger waist?

It took me over a year of running combined with diet to drop 20 pounds. It was hard. I was hungry a lot. Keep at it and the weight will come off eventually. Even when I had only lost 5 pounds people noticed because running does change your body for the better!

Not what I wanted to hear but truth.

Nope I’ve definitely become lax on weighing...but I realize if I’m maintaining I need to cut out some food here or there. I. just. Can’t. So. Hungry.

I want to join! I’ve been hoping to lose the last 5-10 since October but the scale won’t budge! I walk or jog 3-5x week 60 minutes, get 10000 steps in and ski/bike on weekends. Gotta stop snacking on the pretzels! I’m just so HUNGRY! Sw-145 CW-125 GW—115

Yes! Trying to maintain 125 at 5’3’’ seems difficult! I am hungry and just want to EAT! I can’t imagine how I will ever lose the last 5-10 pounds being this hungry. I lost the weight over a year so I should be used to this...

I was only 15 pounds above normal when I started on MFP, active and happy but had hypertension at age 40. Losing 20 pounds reversed it...so getting into the normal range can greatly improve your health.

Huevos rancheros with 50 cal low carb wrap, some vegetarian retried beans and 1 egg, salsa. Skip the cheese.

Get a dog and walk it as a family/have kids commit to walking the dog daily!
-
Me too. That’s why I am waiting for better weather to go for the last 5-10 pounds.

No real advice besides patience. I was in a similar place as you and all it took was sticking to it (for over a year)! It was hard, and I was hungry a lot of the time. I even posted an identical thread—and the advice was the same. But I powered through and lost 20 pounds! You can do it! Keep going!

No I don’t plan to log forever. I do plan to keep track in my head. I’m pretty good at estimating at this point. I didn’t log religiously while losing either. I do log every few weeks to try to drop a few more pounds with no success though! These last few pounds are killing me.

Op—I started about your stats and have almost reached my goal weight of 120 (at my original goal of 125 but would like to drop a few more). I reLly had to up the exercise to lose anything. I ran about 20 miles per week, did 1-2 body weight videos per week, and on weekends did a very strenuous mountain bike ride or two. All…

I gained 30-35 pounds with each of my kiddos. I recommend NOT gaining that much as I was left with 10 from the first, then 15 with second. I blame it on massive amounts of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Finally lost the 25 extra after 7 years! Congrats!

Took me about a year to go 145-125. I didn’t weigh anything but tried to stick close to 1500. I was probably eating more, though I felt starving much of the time...!?

Soma has great bras and they do bra fitting. Some of my bras from there are 10 years old and going strong! I also went down a cup size with a 20 pound loss.
-
Same here but didn’t have too much to lose. It was actually still really hard...had to almost give up alcohol and tortilla chips and started running several times per week. Losses were still so slow!
-
I’ll just say that I had similar stats as you and it took me a long time to drop 20 pounds—more than a year. I noticed that I would drop 5 pounds every few months but weekly losses weren’t noticeable. I would keep at it! I ate about 1500 calories for the entire year, didn’t weigh my food at all so I was probably eating…

I have a charge 2 and the calories it gives me seem very accurate—about 1800/day to maintain. I don’t track my cals meticulously unless I’m trying to drop a few pounds though. If anything, fitbit underestimates my runs-I only get 260 cals for a 3.5 mile run. I eat back all my exercise calories and more because I’m usually…

5’3’’ 40 Years old. 125 ish. Maintain on around 1800. I run 12 miles/week and do you tube videos 2x/week. Eat more on running days cause it makes me so hungry!

Some of us have no real “choice” on how quickly we can lose. As a short 40 year old, I had to work my butt off for 1 year to lose 20 pounds! I could not have eaten less without developing an eating disorder. But—20 pounds at my height is like losing 50-60 to taller people IMO.
-
I’m a fellow shortie at 5’3’’ and have gone from about 155 after my second child to 125 which was my goal. This took...7 years! But seriously I didn’t start logging and really focusing on food and excercise until August 2016 and lost 20 pounds to hit goal by October 2017. I started running and just did my first 10k which…

That will be very difficult! She needs to eat less and move much more. Took me a year to lose 15-20 pounds at her size. I tried to stick with 1500-1800 cals and running 12 miles per week. I also walk 10k steps per day. She should use MPF’s calorie suggestion and weigh all her food. I did not weigh food meticulously hence…

Try the gentle leader face harness or front clip harness. Very good control. Some dogs are just never going to learn not to pull on a regular flat collar and these harnesses should help a lot!

I am experiencing the same thing. I lost about 20 pounds over a year and I’m now starving most of the time. I have allowed myself to eat at or above maintenance for a few weeks (still ideally want to lose 5 pounds) and it has helped. Haven’t gained and my appetite has gone back down a bit now. I am going to try to push…

Try an app called rock my run. The reggae channel is my fave.

According to my fit bit with HR monitor it burns about 250 for 30 minutes. I am working hard the whole time!
