I think you are correct not to get too concerned about how fast you lose. You've got a new sustainable lifestyle now rather than being "on a diet". Of course if you ever feel that you've plateaued too much you could always make some minor tweaks to the what, when, and how much. What sustains me about OMAD even during times…

Good job, nice loss. Definitely a big advantage about OMAD is the absence of that feeling of being deprived.

As Bob mentioned it takes a while to get acclimated to running. If I think back to March/April time frame of this year, I was at the time walking and occasionally getting into a little jog for as long as I could sustain it. As I recall in the beginning it might have been as short as 100 yards or so, that's all I could…

So for some time I've been wrestling with the decision on how to proceed, how to eat, how often to eat, how often to splurge, what should my goals be, etc. After going round on this for weeks I think I had an epiphany on Friday night which gave me the direction. I had a very rough time sleeping Friday night. It was day 2…

13.25 miles. Pretty far but not exactly blazing speed.

I figure I'll post here knowing that as soon as I do Sandy will be checking in. So ((((Sandy)))), let us know how you're doing please.
-
That's an excellent point @GottaBurnEmAll , your activity level is a big factor in determining what makes you satiated.
-
Lol I honestly don't know how far I went, I'll map it out later on. I thought I was duplicating the route I did last month that came out to 2 hrs 40 min, but I think I must have added a could extra segments this time. When I saw 3 hours my jaw dropped, but it does explain the extra fatigue I felt the final few miles. Had…

I eat a lot of vegetables as they fill me up, a moderate amount of protein, and I'm liberal with fats (olive oil, avocado, butter, coconut oil). If I maintain this as the core of my meals I get really full and satiated. I only eat once a day so it's more of a feast than a meal!
-
Good to see you back. Keep us posted on your progress.

@gomissfitnes @brittdee88 @minigrrl thank you all! Just cooling down from a 3hr super run this morning. I'm beat. I'm taking a couple days off to recover fully. Have a great day all.

Great looking food although I'm not a fan of squid and calamari. Tomato, mozzarella, olive oil, plus salt is one of my favs though. In general I like the Mediterranean diet.
-
Bravo for your lifestyle changes which led to increased confidence and happiness. I too saw huge changes in the past year in terms of weight loss, increased confidence and in general more enjoyment of life. Every day in one way or another seems like a celebration of sorts. Congrats.

All laudable goals, good luck with this. I wish when I was still young like you that I had been one tenth as organized, proactive and determined to make positive changes.
-
Holy smokes Bob you're really doing so well and activity level so high. "Second it turned 5:00 pm, I ate something!" this sounds like me. lol when that eating window opens I waste no time! Your 5K time was very good, especially considering conditions. I'm doing one on Oct 1st, a little charity run nearby. I want to see…

Like clockwork once again! kudos

That's great and I know the feeling. I was a shirt untucked guy for years in order to cover up. Tucking in looked awful. Now when I come to work its with a tucked in shirt and I feel very good about that. Super for you!

I was predicting this based on my own OMAD travel experiences. My fears did not materialize and I actually lost a little despite a few indulgences. It's funny how people don't really pay to much attention if you just sit there with a drink during lunch. They're too wrapped up in their own world to pay much attention. And…

Great job on the squats and also a thumbs up on your new profile pic. Like the new hairstyle.

Yes I've lost over 170 pounds and I have this issue. When I sit too long in a certain position it is very painful and I have to move around. It's like there is no padding now and over the years the muscles also disappeared from inactivity. I'm also working on glutes, but not sure what else to do. If I sit on an unpadded…

Good idea. I live alone and I think that is an advantage for doing a water fast. Frankly I'm not sure I could do it with the added stress of having people around.
-
Welcome and a question. In the past what aspect of OMAD made you stop before going more than a week?
-
I'd agree with the 0.5 to 1.0% range per week. I found that my weekly losses would typically cycle within this range with very few expections.
-
My suggestion is to set little goals and reassess as you go. For example just target a one day fast, it's easier to wrap your mind around. Then see how you feel on day two, and three, etc. Don't feel you have to push yourself too far. If you are feeling it then fine go for it, if not stop. In any event no matter how far…

All I can say is wow, you look amazing. Terrific transformation.

Well I researched and found a series of videos with recommended exercises for runners. Yesterday was my first day to try them out. Oh man, even though I took it really easy I am seriously feeling it this morning. But I'm sure if I stick with it the soreness will be worth it. Additional exercising is one of the things I'll…

You've made some recent changes, I'd look again after you've logged 2 or 3 weeks of data to see if you're seeing lower peaks and valleys. I recall from your weight graph that your weight does cycle up and down a bit.
-
"I'll never know until I try" I like that confidence, and it's true. When you're staying on top of things and already have a routine that works you can afford to be creative and try different things out. Always keep exploring and learning.
-
The last long fast I did was 11 days and after I broke that fast I posted these comments on another thread regarding my fasting experience. So to answer your question I will quote myself.

Agreed. Of all the thousands of diet schemes and books out there nothing is as simple and effective as basic OMAD.
