I understand what you’re saying. People have to get that a mother daughter relationship is complicated. So while this may seem harmless it cuts deep because she should support you. Unfortunately that’s not always the case. Just keep your chin up. Respond with no thanks, I don’t eat donuts anymore. Or no thanks I’m full.…

Wow you carry it amazingly . I always thought I didn’t “look my weight” and when I would hear people the same weight or less I thought how can that be?? But now I see in your picture it’s entirely possible to carry the weight so different then someone else. Oops forgot to answer he question, for me it’s just to maintain a…

Lol yes! When a family member makes me angry I go for a long walk . Fast and furious

I’m glad you hashed it out. It’s a lifestyle change for you and that can be hard for loved ones. Don’t let it distract you or discourage you. That is his problem not yours . Hopefully, he can get on board and support you. Otherwise he’ll be left behind along with the weight. Good luck!

Come here to mfp

As silly as it sounds at my age, showing my mother that even though I wasn’t born to be a size 2 like her , I can look and feel great at a size 8.

Vegetarian here :-)

I’ve been Yo-yo ing with the same 10-15 pounds for the last ten years. I’m 46 , a vegetarian, working mom with a million excuses . So I’m back and determined to get the weight off and keep it off !!

Unfortunately people are threatened by others success. Stay heavy and they comment, get heathy ans they comment. Point is , they will always have something to say. Just realize it’s more about themselves then you. Their insecurity .

Sounds like an ideal weight , how much were you looking to lose? I think because you’re at a healthy weight you’re not losing any more.

Recent vegetarian here , but my daughter has been a vegan for the last three years. So when she’s home from college I make her vegan favorites. One of them is split pea soup and another is Mexican quinoa bowl. You just have to swap out a few minor things in order to keep them vegan, I always keep vegetable stock on hand,…

My age (46) which is only a year younger then when my older sister passed away from heart failure . I want to be the healthiest me I can be. I need to be here for my kids a long time. Of course other motivators are vanity, wanting to stay youthful, look good, and be strong

Me!! I substitute . I crave salt. So I switched to wasabi peas or kale chips. It helps so much.

Don’t give up. Fitness pal works. I would re-evaluate what is going wrong. Are you logging everything you eat? Sometimes we estimate portions and it can be way off. Are you overestimating your exercise calorie burn? Go over every angle.

Short term, lose 10-15 lbs. Long term; beat the effects of aging by staying in shape. Make my girls, my husband, and myself proud.

My goal weight is a general number.that I have maintained most of my life. Through kids, age, etc. it's not my high school number, i feel that would be unrealistic at 45. Now that I'm here, at my goal weight, I know why I picked that number. It's where I feel comfortable in my own skin. Pick a number that makes you feel…

Well unfortunately I did tell the people directly in my life and I regret it. My one close friend takes it personally when I don't indulge on our outings. So I do my best to play along and just have smaller portions of whatever we order. And my mother is constantly giving diet advice (all this from a 105 lbs woman who…

I'm 1200. I almost always eat all of that and half my exercise calories . It comes off super slow, but it comes off. I'm about 3 lbs from my goal of 15 lbs .

I totally agree with that. My mother appears to eat and eat , and she is actually underweight. But in reality if you talk To her many days she skips a couple meals because of nerves or her "eating all day" was cucumbers and humus. I think many times genetics work in our favor or against. But I also think that it's…

Awesome! Goodluck to you, you got this!

I also don't have anyone to motivate me in real life. My husband encourages and supports me. But for the most part I'm in it alone. That's why I enjoy FP . If you can find someone in your life to go on this journey with i definitely think it would be helpful. I am also a mom , but of 3 . One in college , other a senior,…

This cruises will get ya every time! I have also gained 10 lbs on a one week cruise. Between the fruity drinks and buffets at all hours.

Hi! 45 year old mom of three here. I have done some stress eating and gained about 20 lbs in the last year. I finally decided a few months ago that I was going to not only lose the weight but take care of myself and get in shape. I've recently started a 30 day yoga challenge , which has helped me physically and mentally.…

Good luck to you! The fact that you are in college and raising 7 children and still trying, I applaud you! You can do this and this is the first step!

My daughter (21) has been vegan for two years. She became vegetarian first at 16 then transitioned. Research is the key. Find healthy substitutes for your diet. She is very knowledgeable on all foods needed in her diet to replace what's she's taking out. She eats very clean and hardly eat processed food . So she has to be…
