Yes, I put in sedentary, because it says somewhere that the number increases once and if you put in exercises. And I didn't confuse kg and lb smile:

This is a number I've read a lot here in the forums, I personally have no clue how much protein one should have, this is the first time in my life that I am concerning myself with this. But why is it that my MFP protein goal is only about half the number I get multiplying my goal weight with .8?
-
Same with me, but I don't eat much meat and don't want to either, so I am now trying to start sneaking egg whites into whatever I can.
-
Yummy, that almost sounds like dessert!

I'm fairly new to this myself, and so far I struggle more staying within my calories, yet getting enough protein without going over the fat and/or carbs. I don't eat much meat, so I'm trying to figure out how to reach my protein goal without going over my fat. Just read here today that the best sources for lean protein are…

Do people really cook one serving of pasta? I always cook the whole box and then keep it in the fridge for a couple of days. But then, it's not only me in the house. We mostly eat Barilla whole grain, and today I cooked a whole box of their rotini, let it cool, weighed it, then portioned it off into 6 equal servings. The…

I made a dressing today with my usual mustard, white wine vinegar, salt and pepper, so basically my vinaigrette without the oil, and a little water to make it go further, and it wasn't that bad. Will keep experimenting with the suggestions made here. Thanks!
-
Thanks for both of your suggestions! What fruit would you blend up as dressing, something with a lot of juice like citrus?

If you have lost almost 100 pounds you have achieved something great already! I'm at the beginning of my journey, and from reading in the forums here I gather that losing those last pounds is a lot harder than the first ones. May take a little longer, but you have already proven that you can do it!

I love my own vinaigrette and haven't really tried any bottled salad dressings, except for what you get when you eat out. The walnut vinaigrette sounds great, walnuts are my favourite nuts anyway!
-
I would have to try, but the thought of it is kind of weird. Then again, I guess we're just so used to certain things going together that it doesn't even occur to us that they don't have to. Well, when I make a salad tomorrow I'll try to eat it without dressing, and if it just doesn't want to go down my throat, I'll try a…
-
No, I hadn't thought of that! So far I've only used the spray for cooking.
-
I've heard that before, but have hesitated to try it. Watered down with water it's probably okay, and maybe I'll increase the mustard part to make it more creamy. Thanks for reminding me of this, I might try it tomorrow!

My husband and I spent one of our first vacations on Malta many years ago, when we still lived in Europe. Loved the island, especially the warm-toned buildings! Got used to whole grain pasta a long time ago, and as said above was also shocked recently how many calories per relatively tiny serving. When I do have it, I try…

I have just discovered Sahale bars (not sure they qualify as protein bars) but I just love the tangerine cashew ones!
-
I think for now I'll just log the treadmill then, seems like trying to figure out all the different weight exercises is way too complicated, at least for me. Thank you!
-
Thanks! I would like to be as accurate as possible, am just having trouble figuring out how to do so. Is the heart rate thing only good for cardio? What else do people use to calculate weightlifting exercises? By no means do I want to increase my deficit by not logging exercise, I just don't want to overestimate and then…

No, I didn't on purpose, didn't even notice when I wrote it. Thanks for the laugh!
-
Thanks a bunch, that clears it up!

So for now I'll just stick to not accepting FRs. There is plenty of information in the forums, and a ton of helpful people, I don't feel like I need more than that at the moment. Also, I don't want to come across as someone who is just seeking help here without giving anything back, but I think I can do that in the form of…

That is a good idea, maybe I'll post something similar to this!
-
I think I need to loosen up a little, this is the second time I didn't get the teasing!
-
I opened one thread asking questions about the food logging feature, and answered another newbie in their post, that's all.
I was just teasing you ;)
Got it! And what you said about not wanting to just collect avatars on your friends page resonated with me. Thanks!

I just reread my op to figure out how you got the idea that I deem them unworthy of my friendship. That's certainly not what I think at all.
-
Good tip, thank you! I may not be the fastest, but I'll figure it all out eventually.
-
I'm new myself! Just started logging food for the first time and had some trouble figuring out how all this works. Just from logging today's meals I can tell already that I've vastly underestimated my food intake so far, that is kind of an eye opener. As far as motivation goes, whatever brought you here probably is your…

I did find everything in the database except for a homemade sauce. When I initially looked at the items in the database and saw the portion sizes, I thought that was a fixed number, I didn't know you could click the item and then adjust the portion to what you had. That's why I thought I had to create my own food items for…

Thank you both! I found a you tube video that explained it, so I think I understand it now, sort of ... Wow, this is a lot of initial work, but I guess once everything you regularly eat is entered, it will be a breeze!
