Need more info. However, from my personal experience i.e. - arthritic knees, hips, ruptured disc with sciatica etc, etc. SWIMMING. It is the ultimate low impact exercise. I have lost close to 4 stone with the aid of MFP & a regular swimming routine. I walk very little, coz I cant, and it hurts if i do. Just remember when…

Slow & steady wins the race. What you are doing seems to be working, one small change could make a difference. I don't know what your exercise amounts are like but a little more could may a difference (unless you are already training to the max)

Or how to deal with them without harming a relationship. I told my wife that I would be cutting out alcohol completely for a few weeks to try get my weight loss back on track, the following evening she arrives home with two bottles of wine. Although I don't want to place any restrictions on her I remind her of what I said…

Just a thought, if your setting is as active & you are also recording every step you take as a calorie loss are you in fact kind of double counting. "Active" setting is for a person when has an active job who may be standing (but still taking steps moving around) and is factored in but if you are also recording all that…

Bad knee here also, as well as a bad Hip & a recovering relapsed disc. As my ortho guy said do non load bearing exercise. Swimming is great, low impact & a full body workout. I also have a set of dumbbells for some free weight exercises and finally as I do a lot of driving kids around (which involves a lot of waiting) I…

Yes, meal planning works. It makes you think about what you are going to eat. It helps ensure you have proper meals to hand instead of just grabbing quick & handy stuff that you cannot be sure of the contents. As someone else said, start small, start with the meal that causes the most overeating, possibly lunches for work.

So back to basics ... If you were in calorie deficit you would not put on weight. This app subtracts calories from exercise that you input from the calories of the food you input to calculate what you should eat. If either you or the MFP are overestimating your exercise calorie and / or under estimating the calories you…

Every journey starts with a single step and you have already done that, so now just keep it going. Now nobody is saying it will be easy, but it certainly will be worthwhile. Slow and steady at the start, gradually add exercise as you become more able. But don't give up just because you have a bad day, or a bad week, just…

Biking is great if you are able for it, go ahead and become a MAMIL (Middle Aged Men In Lycra). I got an exercise bike and use it most days, too rainy here (Ireland) and too many hills in my area. So swimming & spinning (hate that term) are my go to exercises. I struggle at both (for now) which makes the hard work for me…

Hey. So your looking at losing 0.5kg (1.1lbs) per week for thirty weeks, to give you a total loss of 15kg (33lbs), is this correct ? If it is then I think that is a perfectly achievable & sensible goal. ""Most people don’t become overweight in a short period of time, and although it’s possible to lose weight quickly…

My tuppence worth. Firstly losing 1 lb per week is great & consistent. I think you may be "eating" the calories earned from exercise. There is a margin of error here. Control of your calorie deficit is more important than performing loads of exercise, especially if you are using the exercise as an excuse to eat more. You…

Try a change of routine. The body becomes accustomed to the same exercise, & becomes more efficient & therefore burns less calories when performing the same exercise. So if your normal cardio is running, try cycling or swimming. Try something your body is not accustomed to.
