Glad it got sorted so fast! Lol yes I hoard the Kerrygold too  A home fitness stress outlet sounds like a great solution. Sounds like you are lining up your quiet & active coping skills very effectively.

Hugs!! That is so much to deal with & I'm so glad you came here when you needed talked down off the ledge, so to speak, lol. It took me so long to break out of old familiar food habits. And I was at a loss how to cope without snacks when I started. I definitely did stress shop, ugh. Over time I replaced reaching for food…

I used to worry & fret about the loose skin I'll have when I reach goal weight but then I saw a bunch of after picture of folks on MFP looking so amazing, loose skin & all, and I changed my mind. I'm going to be as proud of that mark of my achievement as I have been dismayed at my muffin top all these years. Heck yeah I'll…

A lady who sees me several times a week noticed my haircut lol. I've had the same haircut forever! She was trying to figure what was different. That made me smile

This steamed egg recipe is very soothing, has a soft custard like texture: http://thewoksoflife.com/2015/01/steamed-egg/

Have you tried eating within a restricted time window, intermittent fasting (IF)? I'm doing 16 hours of fasting with 8 hours to eat all my calories for the day & it got me out of a stall. Butter Bob on youtube explains why it can help to restrict the time you allot for eating.

I came from Atkins to Paleo to Keto and I'm doing dairy-free Keto because dairy seems to cause me breathing issues, though I can tolerate butter, phew! It's not too hard to modify Paleo meals to be more Keto friendly by watching the carb count on the veg & not using maple syrup or honey. I just search "dairy free Keto…

Have been keeping to my 3x a week 30 Day Shred Level 1 schedule. I keep thinking how much easier the exercise would be if I were already at goal weight, lol. Heavy people deserve extra props for exercising, IMO. It's for real almost as hard to transition from standing to lying on the mat then getting back up again fast…

I know myself & I know I have to stick to strict guidelines or I will feel sick & be off the rails in no time. One off day & my addiction takes over & that's that! So it never occurs to me to make room for special occasion sweets or breads, I am fine doing without. I might feel nostalgia for old favorite treats, but I…

Thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences. I started 16:8 two days ago & on day 1 it felt weird not to eat right when I got up but I realized I wasn't hungry & I'd just been eating out of habit! So today was no problem. Feeling hopeful this will help heal my insulin resistance.

Isn't it amazing the contrast?? Glad you didn't slide down the slippery slope & I hope your carb hangover goes away fast!!
-
@FIT_Goat Ha! Right on, I don't feel so all alone now
-
@gcminton Oh my goodness, your story is totally heartbreaking. How difficult for you to have to watch that happen. I feel for you & I send a million hugs.
-
@Sunny_Bunny_ HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! :lol: OMG yes.
-
@Cadori Ha! Glad I'm not the only evangelist  And yeah *shakes fist at sugar industry*

Unfortunately true, @RalfLott it's a real shame. And I know what it's like, because that was once me.
-
@PaulaJSchiller Glad I could give you a chuckle with my goofiness  Your comment is SO FAMILIAR to me!! Yes! Everything you said. So sad no one in your circle can break away from the carb addiction. It really is insidious, as we know. And addiction brain gives terrible advice like "You can't live without…

@AlexandraCarlyle Excellent conversation! I hope you did get some gears churning in his head. I always say "Oh I've had enough sweets for several lifetimes lol, I'm all set." It's not cookies I've lacked
-
@jayerde That's a good point about letting folks know your new dietary needs.
-
@RalfLott That is fantastic lol, I'm sure you've got many faithful acolytes! But seriously, I guess we are our own best advertisements.

@CoffeeNBooze Wow what a great story! Thanks for sharing, you did your friend such a tremendous favor, IMO, so glad it worked for her.

@littlecrunchy190 My particular experience back in 2003 when I first went on Atkins was sort of bizarre to me. Once I freed myself from the grip of my carb addiction & acknowledged to myself that I was an addict, I found myself constantly watching Unwrapped, that show that was all about how candy is made. I've no idea why…

@FIT_Goat @RalfLott Hahaha! You all legit cracked me up, thanks for the laffs

@KnitOrMiss @AlexandraCarlyle Thanks, friends! Glad it's not just me wanting to share the good news lol. She was already curious so that helped. I did further pique her interest when I mentioned the lowering of inflammation I am experiencing. But I know I overwhelmed her, d'oh! I'll do better next time  What are…

I sauté it with oil, salt, and pepper then serve it under sautéed red peppers & sausage. The flavors works well together.

Great observations, thanks for sharing your experiences!

Went away for the weekend for my MiL's 90th. Stayed low carb all weekend, even while eating at a restaurant. I brought my own food just in case because I knew there would be a few meals at the house where we stayed. After the big party it was just me, my husband, his sister, & my MiL having dinner at home & afterwards they…
