There is a group you can join called "Happy Herbivores" to find other veg*ns and have conversations! :)

You guys should try out the Harry Potter challenge in the Challenges forum! :)

The Owl Post is closed on New Year's Day to give the owls a well-earned holiday. ;)

Unless I'm reading it wrong, it looks like on Thanksgiving you could have a serving each of turkey, a dinner roll, mashed potatoes, milk, and free vegetables with a serving of fat to cook your veggies or for salad dressing. :) For your "bedtime snack" you could make pumpkin mousse by whipping up a serving of condensed milk…

Yay! I'm so excited!

I've definitely seen people at my gym in casual work clothes, like polo shirts, slacks with belts, etc. I used to think it was weird, but now I'm used to it -- especially around lunchtime!

I have the same thing when I first wake up and have been REALLY sedentary (i.e. sleeping!) for the entire day so far. If I stay up past midnight and get some extra steps in before bed, the number is lower when I wake up than it usually is. :)

I love c25k! It really worked for me and others I know, though now I'm all about heavy lifting and don't do so much running. :) Here's some advice I saw for if the first week is too much:

@Freischuetz, that's a good question! There are maintainers in the group, so I guess it might be possible! I don't know if you've talked to anyone outside of this thread, but maybe you should PM @Kisame29 or @xxghost and see what they say. :)

Seitan is the best for protein! I also recommend Primal Strips and the vegan Quorn naked cutlets as good protein sources. :)

A few people mentioned Beyond Meat - I've heard the Beyond Burger is amazing, but I've only had their Beast Burger. I think the Beast Burger is the best veggie burger I've ever had in 20+ years of being veg! I can only imagine how good the Beyond Burger must be. :)

Congratulations on quitting smoking! :)

I'm not currently pregnant, but I've been a pregnant vegan in the past. :) Do you eat much seitan? That's a good non-soy source of protein. The seitan Primal Strips are great for a snack, and I've never had a store-bought seitan I didn't like for use in recipes. There's also some good recipes for seitan sausages from Isa…

My kids love playing the games on the choose my plate website. They are particularly fond of "Blast Off" and "Trainer." :)
-
YAY! Have you already read the other short stories in it?
-
The Lift story is awesome! Literally!

My favorite Sanderson book is The Emperor's Soul! And it's a novella, only about 100 pages, so it's a quick read. :)

I'm just hoping when dustbringers finally show up it'll be with an awesome character and not someone whiny. Since I'm already stuck with the name and all. ;)
-
My username is dustbringer because the other orders of the Knights Radiant were already taken.

I just found a recipe that suggests replacing the mango with papaya or peaches. :) http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/coconut-milk-sticky-rice-with-mangoes-233842
-
Sure! The sticky rice is the important bit, you just slice the mango and put it on top. :) There is no reason you couldn't replace it with other fruit or leave it off completely!
-
You could make sticky rice with mango! It's a common Thai dessert that is naturally gluten free and vegan -- and is made with coconut milk! (And it's super delicious!)

Tonic has calories, but soda water/seltzer/club soda do not.

If you're not vegan, greek yogurt and eggs are good sources of protein. Personally, I always keep Primal Strips in my purse and gym bag. They have 10-11g of protein for 74-99 calories. Thai Peanut is my favorite flavor, but I also really like Teriyaki, Hickory Smoke, and Texas BBQ. :)

@GoldenEye_ Quorn naked chik'n cutlets are nutritionally pretty similar to chicken -- including in terms of protein/calories. http://www.quorn.us/food/vegan/vegan-chikn-cutlets/
