Subway also offers a light mayo. I think if you are going to do any creamy sauce, a little of that would be the best choice of any of them. I can't eat dry sandwiches. I have to have some kind of sauce on it
-
I could never do this as I feel like seltzer water is one of the grossest drinks I've ever tasted.
-
Maybe the OP just meant she'd prefer a sandwich with meat so people won't suggest to her vegetarian options to save calories. At least that's how I took it
-
I use a website called Nutritionix (sp?). They have a Subway "build your sandwich" calorie counter. You select from a drop down menu your bread, meat, cheese, toppings etc and it gives you the exact nutritional info for that sandwich
-
Meh, I think most people do this, so I wouldn't feel too bad about it ;)

I had to take medication where I was directed to drink a large glass of water with it. I told my doctor that I take it but usually with diet pop, he said "not the same thing. You need to drink it with water"
-
Same here. I've never heard a doctor say that drinking pop (diet or otherwise) or sugary drinks has the same benefits as drinking water. I'm kinda surprised how many people on here that think if a drink has water as its base that it's just as good as drinking straight water. And I'm sure they will come back with stats to…

I don't believe the need for calcium is a myth
-
I've never heard of that. Now I've got to get one!

Thank you for this! I know I couldn't be the only one having these conditions and finding it difficult to lose with just calorie counting and exercising. It seems like reducing carbs, at least at first, might be the key as it seems to have worked for many others. I might give it a try. I feel like I get enough sleep and I…

I just don't believe you can suffer from the perfect storm of weight gaining attributes and only think it's going to cost you gaining 11 pounds. Then again maybe it's different for me since its coupled with PCOS which also can have a side effect of weight gain. I just find it surprising that "weight gain" would be listed…
-
Right. But if you suffer from something that effects your choices and takes that control away you will have a difficult time being successful. I'm not arguing that CICO is not the basic need for weight loss. Cuz it is. I'm just saying if you suffer from things that cause your body to work against you, physically and…

Right! So we agree that hypo can cause weight gain. I feel like we are talking in circles here cuz that's what I was saying and then you said it doesn't really cause weight gain. But it clearly does, cuz if it lowers your metabolism, keeps you feeling hungry, makes you tired and takes away your energy that all logically…
-
Sure but isn't day long fatigue and low energy also attributed to hypothyroid which in turn can assist in weight gain if you are very inactive because of it? Also it causes a lower metabolism. Those two things combined can equal weight gain. And if both things are contributed to hypothyroid then couldn't it be said that…
-
I see. I'll try it.
-
No I haven't tried that. It sounds complicated
-
How awesome that you were able to prove the doctors wrong! Kudos to you! I noticed you said you were on Metformin. Do you think that assisted in your weight loss? I've had doctors tell me that it can help me lose weight, but I've never stayed on it long as it makes me feel sick.
-
As I said, I have just been diagnosed. Who knows how long I've had it for though and clearly I have not had "serious issues" or dropped dead from being untreated. I also suffer from PCOS, which can attribute to weight gain as well. So a double wallop to work with!
-
It also slows your metabolism and effects the way your stomach digests food
-
If you look up the side effects of hypothyroidism one them is weight gain. I've seen that listed on every side effects list on multiple sites.
-
Ha! I thought that was a bear for a second!
-
I'm totally addicted to Pepsi Max. We go through a ton of it
-
Maybe they are trying to sell you on their product. That's why they are so pushy about it. Just block them and get on with your life.
-
I'm glad that it works for you. But it's clearly not working for me in terms of just counting calories. Is your PCOS treated with some sort of medication?
-
I was just diagnosed. And who knows how long I had it before I finally got diagnosed. I don't go to the doctor very often unless I'm actually sick with something I can't treat at home.
-
So do you still eat whatever you want while being mindful of your daily caloric intake and still lose weight? Or are there any food types you stay away from? Or are you on any medications?
-
I agree with the part of PCOS effecting every woman differently. And I think what you're saying is that you can't just practice CICO alone to lose weight. You have to keep other things in mind when dieting if you expect to lose like being low Carb. I would love to be able to stay off Metformin and still lose weight too.…

I dont understand why people ask questions like this. In fact sometimes I wonder if they are just trolling. It's your life, eat what you want. You should know yourself well enough (what you like/want, your weight goals, daily calories, etc) to make this decision on your own. No one else can tell you what to eat or not eat.

Probably the only frozen lunch style meal that I will eat is the Lean Cuisine chicken ranch club flatbread. It cooks up really well and taste like normal food and only 370 calories
-
I agree with all of this. I find frozen meals to just taste too fake to me and lack flavor. I always find myself adding salt and pepper to try to salvage the meal when I do try to eat one. I'd much rather make my own lunch of stuff I know I like. It's worth the effort to me.
