London here!

5'11 here and currently 139. I have a five year old son and am trying to get my head into accepting I should be at maintenance now but I still feel huge and I'm certain it's because of my height! Always so conscious of being 'bigger' than everyone else and I can't seem to embrace it no matter how I try! Edit I'm 32

Wrong yes, as in it does damage to your body. Intentionally wrong - no. Yes you know you shouldn't be doing it but for factors that feel outside of your control, your rational mind goes out the window. Don't be too hard on yourself, you aren't alone sugar. Good news is it can be changed. I've not 'purged' in more years…

Hi! I suffered with bulimia for some of my young adult life. Made worse by a very bad marriage whereby it was the only thing in my control that I clung onto. What worked for me was distance. I mean mental distance from the anxiety. Turn that 'thing you can control' into something you don't want to do as you know it will…

I'm 5'11 and am aiming for 130 which is where I was before I had my son and I was happy there. I've about 7lbs to go now and then I think it's time to work on being happy at that weight! I thought I would be thrilled to be under 140 and stop here but I'm still not entirely happy so will persevere but will not go lower than…

Thank you guys, I will continue to use workout calories only to be safe x

This! I have never been technically (as in BMI classified) overweight however I'm a naturally polite person so I would often see someone possibly a little larger than me and let them finish their journey on the stairs etc before starting mine. I LOVE how these forums and focusing on my own weight has opened my eyes to how…

Agreed, I'm definitely a whoosher. It can be frustrating when it doesn't move but if you persevere it will come down gradually xx
-
Agreed! Aside from peeing a lot my clear dewy skin is about the only change I've noticed :)
-
Agreed! I absolutely wouldn't recommend even trying, it's really not worth undoing all the good work you have done losing weight steadily and healthily OP x
-
It can be done VERY UNSAFELY. I have done it in years past and I was at a 'normal' BMI (23) however I made myself SO unwell. It was water and muscle wastage I'm positive. I ate nothing but cabbage soup and I had no energy, my stomach hurt, my skin was bad, I was short tempered. It was not a nice experience. If someone has…

Agreed! I think that is exactly why I've been able to successfully change my outlook on losing weight. I previously would diet, lose (dramatically) and then revert back to eating high fat (oily) foods and the cycle would continue. Since really giving MFP my all, I've taught myself how to behave. If I want something then I…
-
Hi! It's definitely doable as I have almost done it myself (25.5lbs) since I joined MFP and started properly at the end of June but I can't stress enough the importance of eating your calories set by MFP and ensuring you look after yourself, exercise and drink lots of water to stay hydrated. Prior to MFP I was crash…

Same would go for family x

I'm the same. It used to matter now I will do what makes me feel happy and healthy! A colleague at work today told me I was getting too thin. She is the same height as me and in my opinion (not that I would voice it to her or anyone that knows her) very underweight for her height. I'm 5'11 and she looks (note looks but…

5'11 here, current weight 142 goal 130 xx
-
I sometimes watch a tv show, mobile propped up on the treadmill and headphones in - not sure if that helps or you have access but time definitely flies x
-
Amazing! I wish my body would transform that way! I'm 25lbs down and still the same shape just less bulky #gutted Your waist has become tiny! Unbelievable change in body shape dynamic - well done!
-
You can absolutely do it! I was exactly the same when I started and now I can run a 5k with relative (and I stress relative) ease. I finished C25k over two months ago and have only just managed to start working on bringing my pace up and time down. Stick with it, the sense of achievement is wonderful x

I would focus on making it easier. I have lots of quick easy meals like a pitta filled with salad and marinaded chicken or lamb. Homemade burgers seem to hit that 'takeout craving'. Also try some simple fast meals perhaps? Jacket potato with beans, scrambled egg on toast, or things you can make in bulk on a lazy Sunday.…
-
Also remember you may still be losing fat even if the scales don't move so quickly, that's the main thing x
-
I would stick with it. I was a doubter initially but I have found that with water gain it takes me around a week but when it goes so do a couple of extra pounds with it :) Hang on in there. Every body reacts differently so it could be that like me yours just hangs around for a little longer. I was so disheartened last week…

I like to make a lot of homemade burgers or grilled meat pittas. You can season or include whatever takes your fancy! From grilled chicken with Nando marinade, diced marinaded lamb, chicken burgers, beef burgers with chilli to rare steak wraps - I find the variety mixes it up and also the hit of carbs in the wrap or pitta…

5'11 for me! We can do this ladies! 23lb down for me and at least 10 more to go hopefully before the new year

["lorrpb;c-40593999"] P.S great profile pic! Amazing progress, well done!
-
Yes, definitely deemed a non-issue. I am safe to drink away! Was just curious if it was classified better or worse than still but seems to be much of a much :)
-
Yes! I keep meaning to buy a soda stream and you have just reminded me! Thank you x

That's great news Dustin, I'm persevering and don't feel too discouraged as I still feel better in myself x
