Parts sourced from Germany; Spain, Ireland & Scotland. The Gaelic parts are nice but the owners manual is hard to read. :o Final assembly in southern California by a nurse and an electrical engineer. Not bad work for a first-time project. Frame has suffered from years of abuse and neglect and keeps on ticking... Thank the…

Whatever crazy song my cube-mate is humming... whether I like it or not <bleck> On the happy side, I've been following this "stuck-in-your-head" thread since I ran across it on Compuserve (1995; in an ADHD forum)

Loved backpacking in the late 60s & 70s. Wore down two pair of hiking boots in the Sierras and the trails around Los Angeles. Haven't tried the latest form-fitting packs but it's obvious, I'll be wearing them on my hips like a frame pack. The way I carry it, straps are just for balance. My vote too for trash bag/plastic…

You've heard that old saw... "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery"? Well, there's also a legal definition for that... It's called forgery. And yes, I'll admit, it's from a cartoon somewhere.

Having to re-tie the gym shorts a bit tighter or they fall down. Embarrassing but it's a feel-good moment too. Then there's the search for the leather punch when the belt runs out of holes... or having to buy a new one. Definitely feel-good! And shirts, Hawaiian & Guayaberas, cover a lot of past sins but it's nice to fit…

Love the day count, Gary! Love to see all the recovery going on here too. Will celebrate my own 28 years in Jan 2019 - as long as the addiction ran. Drug of choice? Anything that hit the dopamine/serotonin buttons. Ate my way through therapy to be sure I could make recovery stick - which worked, actually. Now the weight…

Did we get the Holy Hand Grenade on the bottom left shelf? And I recognize the 5-bladed spinning knife but I've forgotten the movie.

Every day my apartment neighbor leaves his grungy construction boots out on our shared porch. This morning, his 5 year old daughter has left her pink tennis shoes right next to her father's. It's so sweet... "like father, like daughter", I couldn't help but smile all the way to work. Pictures in the morning if I get the…

Now imagine that each person above is keeping the person above *them* in that closet - a topological nightmare.

Warm, sweet, Oatmeal. Sadly, the doctor put me off coffee so I've been jonesing for it ever since. As nice and popular as tea really is... I'm... not there yet. And while babies are right up there on the list, they require more work than coffee.

Hang in there, 33. My own recovery is definitely work as well. It's like fighting myself - the old, wrong habits & attitudes, built up from whenever, all the stuff what needs changing. How does the old saying go? Fall down seven times. Get up eight. Working to lose 120 lbs. I'll send you some as they go. B)

Only when I'm awake. In truth, my motivation is strictly for my own weight loss so being alone kinda supports that. It's also a good time to relax my brain and just go - a form of running mediation if you will. Sadly, the last time I ran with a friend, I couldn't shut up long enough to ask how he was doing. It might have…

I heartily agree but I would have never believed it at the time (elementary & middle school). It was fortunate I could choose a different high school when the time came. I was a nerdy, uncoordinated, ADHD kid in the 60s so I became great friends with depression, reading my way through the Time/Life science & nature books…

OMG! Truth in advertising. What a depressingly refreshing change. It looks exactly like what comes out of the box! And maybe, well... why not show me a fork for scale.

I find it terribly frustrating that seeking counseling for a body-image or eating disorder would affect my qualifications to teach or for most any other work. (a prime entry on my list of resentments) In my case, I had no choice but to seek another career. I still help people, as I've always wanted to do, and mostly by…

Dishwashers? I do remember them. It's just that I haven't had one in so long. Apartment owners just don't like them for some reason. I suppose because they have to repair them and pay the water bill, etc. In the past I'd wait until the growth in the sink started moving on its own. You always want to get it cleaned up…

Reverse the question... How nice does she want to be? Or not.
