  • Ok so ive decided to commit to a cut. Im going to go 350 cal deficit per day. This wont be easy as i love my food!! Im going to do this for 8 weeks and then see where i am.   • Tbh after losing so much weight over the last year the thought of bulk really freaks me out! But im not the most patient person and recomp is being painfully slow.
  • How much of a cut do you reckon ? I dont really want to lose any more weight as my face gets quite drawn looking. You think 7lbs would do it
  • I know i cant spot reduce, i mean i want to shape up my whole body while gaining muscle. I eat 1800 cals per day. 30% protein, 25% fat, 45% carbs. I lift weights three times a week, do 1 circuit class and spend the rest of my time chasing after 4 kids :-). Over the last year ive lost 35 lbs.

  • I usually lift in the mornings and i always make sure to have breakfast an hour before i work out otherwise id have no strength!! But everyone is different so do what feels right for you :-)
  • Since i started lifting i cut back my circuit classes from 3 a week to 1. I lift 3 times a week but ive noticed since i started prioritising the weights my endurance for the circuit classes had dropped and i do struggle a bit more. However i much prefer weightlifting so its not an issue but i guess you cant have the best…

  • Im back in the gym this evening so im going to deload aswell and really concentrate on form. Will you gradually build back up or start back at the weight you were on? Also how do you know what weight to deload to?

  • Thank you, i was thinking my squat could be much deeper. Tbh it hasnt felt 'right' since 60kg , so i think i'll deload to 60kg and work on that. When you say hip hinge for the deadlift, do you mean bending lower?

  • Thanks! Yeah my gym has the .5kg rings, they're a lifesaver ! I know what you mean about form, i squatted 75kg tonight but i felt I probably could of gone lower, so I'm going to stay at that next time and get it right.
  • I was also wondering about this. I started stronglifts 6 weeks ago and am now finding the increases hard. I'm female 5'4 127 lb . My lifts are Squat 72.5 kg Deadlift 75 kg Bench 35 kg Row 45 kg Ohp 25 kg I'm havnt been able to increase my ohp for the last three times so ive switched to 15 kg dumbbells and it's much better.…

  • Great advice thanks. Would you think maintenance + 15% on lift days and maintenance -10% on rest days is a good approach?

  • I actually was thinking about recomping and then everything i researched seed to say that on order to reduce bf you HAVE to be on a deficit. But honestly im soooo done witb being hungry. On days i weight train im starving so i might calorie cycle and see how that goes. I just need to be patient !!
  • I am only on a small deficit, im quite happy with my weight, ive lost 35 lbs over the last year , at 128 now , i really just want to shape my body i suppose and lower my bf. I am eating 1500 per day but i think im going to increase it and see does that work
