and for me I can't handle any yogurt, any soft cheese, pizza or ice cream. I can't even manage a bar of dairy chocolate or anything with pastry made from butter without consequences. Such is life - we all have different thresholds

I too have joined Weight Watchers recently but I did it so I can have access to the online recipes. By having the recipes I can get inspiration and more ideas on the types of things I can eat to get more variety in my diet (need to put it into practice now). The whole 'free food' just doesn't work for me and the app drove…

I guess techntechnically I have one, it starts at the small of my back and goes up and over to my left shoulder. Will post a pic once I know how, guessing it will be when I am at a computer. The tattoo underlines parts of my life where strength got me through and I am wanting to extend down my left arm but that will depend…

I think there has been an element of a fad to some of the claimed intolerance, however as someone who is lactose intolerant all the faddy people have opened up a huge amount of choice for me. I am also hypothyroid so have to be careful how much Soya I have (interacts with my meds) so the choices of coconut and nut products…

I spin a lot and it never shows that I burn any 'extra' calories over and above just being sat on my bum on my Garmin. What spinning and knitting does do however is keep my hands so busy I am not snacking. Weaving on the other hand with a rigid heddle floor loom. That shows I am working hard!!

Been hypothyroid for decades, now on the right tablets for me and finally discovered I was lactose intolerant last year. Also have spinal arthritis. I don't touch icecream (lactose intolerant) but gin, dark chocolate, red wine - in my mind that is what cardio is for ( I know, I know but I can't drop ALL my bad habits and I do keep within calories)

Looking for a mentor to help with some fitness and possibly nutrition in a couple of months time (If I try and focus on everything at once I am setting myself up to fall on my butt) I am 47 with an under active thyroid, lactose intolerance and spinal arthritis. I could do with losing around 160 pounds in total and have…

It is absolutely possible, I developed lactose intolerance in my 40s but did not get it confirmed until I did an exclusion diet Itchy throat and watering eyes sounds quite worrying and I would suggest you stop eating peanuts and see a Dr to be safe

When you have to sit down to get dressed. When you have to put your knees out so there is room for your belly and breathing on the rowing machine When the kids start asking if you are having children (not just 1 but multiples!! !) When you are buying from 50+ in your 40s When you don't own anything without an elastic…

Thanks for the replies. I only take them for a couple of days and I do Pilates as often as I can (mostly when not on painkillers or I tend to overdo it) . I do tend to be a little spacey and sluggish but mostly incredibly thirsty taking them and I hate feeling like that so stop taking them as soon as I can.

1.What was the turning point for you? I got to 282 pounds and had to wear elasticated everything. My ankles swelled up by almost 2 inches from morning to evening and heartburn kept me awake most nights. I tried an exclusion diet and realised i could lose weight and improve my health. 2. When did you start this journey? 1…
