I acknowledge that, however I was replying to the 'why would anyone not take meds' and offering a potential reason for that stance as a generalisation not as the specific reason for the person who posted.

Thalidomide. It used to be prescribed for nausea and had devastating effects on the unborn child. I know it is not prescribed during pregnancy anymore but the physiological effect of the past still continues. It is unethical to test drugs on pregnant women so we still do not know for sure the effects of drugs on the unborn…

Interesting, not come across this before, thanks. For me I notice that my heart rate is elevated above resting for some hours after a work out (above resting but not hugely) so I thought it was partly afterburn. Then again the effect is dropping considerably as I have lost weight and become more active.

you will have burnt the 600 for your run but you will have revved your engine so will burn a little more afterwards which for you looks to have been another 300 cals. Not double dipping but certainly something to be aware of and account for

quick google brought up this http://nj.gov/dep/fgw/pdf/bear_recipeguide.pdf Like pork, the proper cooking time for bear meat is 375 degrees F for 20-25 minutes per pound. Internal cooking temperature should reach 160 degrees for 3 minutes or more before consumption. Cook until there is no trace of pink meat or fluid paying…

I think there are a number of reasons why people suffer with GERD and diet will only help if that is what causes your symptoms. If it is food then it is reasonably easy to fix - I was struggling with digestive 'issues' and decided to do an elimination diet. What I didn't expect was the quick relief of my GERD which I have…

We have a cake table at work, known as the 'fat table' we have cakes, sweets, fruit and nuts. Occasionally it is all cakes and sometimes it is all fruit - it has taken a while for people to get used to there being fruit there and starting to bring fruit in instead of cakes. We even have fruit for the Macmillan coffee…

I confess that I have been having a really hard time with a colleague, so much so I can't sleep and have been hoping i would have a non serious accident to have time of work. Instead the colleague has just had a non serious accident requiring several weeks off work. I feel like someone has taken a massive weight away from…

My lightest was 144 pounds at 5' 9" and my SW was 284 so I thought I would drop 100 pounds as that was a nice round number and then I could look at a goal weight. I still have 70 pounds to go before I need to decide

I take Tramadol now and then but there is no way I would do a work out whilst taking them as the risk of hurting myself is too high. That said I do still exercise but will only do walking as the chances of causing damage is pretty low

When I was diagnosed I read a lot to find out about my condition. I read that soy can suppress the thyroid and not to consume in large amounts. At the time I was vegetarian and consuming quite a bit. I haven't given soy up but I am conscious of how much I eat.

I think as you are a a good healthy weight and maintained for such a long time you are going to get the best results you could. I have not had a lift but have had a reduction so have anchor shaped scars, if I could change anything I would have lost more weight first. My scars were quite livid to start with but have faded…

CICO is only thing that seems to be working for me and I have auto immune thyroid problems. My calories burnt through exercise is lower than most but CICO still works. I think the group is using excuses - every group I have joined (and since left) spent so much time saying weight gain was inevitable and weight loss…
