Trip to London

We'll be crossing the pond in a couple of weeks with a visit to London. It will be our first time there and I'm wondering if there is anything to see or do there... at all.
I know that I'll want to visit the Vatican, The Louvre & the Leaning Tower of Pisa while in England and I'm hoping that some of you might have some other recommendations that do not involve shopping.
Thank you in advance for any ideas...... and let's keep it clean (you know who you are).

I was going to recommend a real place in London but then I saw your final sentence. Never mind.

I thought more like Wales but I'm not sure.
Camino Inca is in Mongolia, and that's right next to England, I am positive1 -

we'll be staying near Hyde Park ( I think) how far is Yorkshire? we're looking for things of historical interest, not so much shopping or fine dining.
Thanx!0 -
You should definitely visit the Sahara desert while there too.2

no.... I'm pretty sure that's Nicolas Cage in a wig.3 -
also.... what kind of shoes should I wear?
Will wearing athletic trainers tip me off as an American tourist?
.... or will just wearing my Red Sox cap be enough to do so?
these things are important to me.0 -
no trip to London would be complete without a climb up Mount Everest, and weather permitting, a night cruise on the Nile is not to be missed0

If you want to be inconspicuous, buy your shoes over there, any American brand will expose you.0 -

the London Aquarium is one of my favorites.
guided tour of the Tower of London is worth it
Jack the Ripper night time walking tour is a blast, as are pretty much any of the countless "ghost" tours in London.1
