  • Track everything u eat. Count your calories staying in a good balance of macros. Measure your food properly. Preplan and prep. Maybe up your exercise a bit more too to challenge yourself
  • I am Tammy 41 year old wife and a mom of 2 girls Live in Canada 270.6lbs was my start weight and am currently 212. Can't wait to hit onederland !! I want to lose roughly 60 more pounds so am at halfway mark! I started 1 year ago! Currently working on the c25k challenge but will probably be at week 1 for awhile lol! I just…
  • I am 41 started at 270 and am at 212 with about 60 more to go. I have loose skin in my underarms and tummy. Some of it has tightened back up but i imagine i will have an issue in the end. Good thing is you are young and may have less of an issue! Prob with good skin care and toning you can prob keep it more minimal.
  • I am not familiar with refeeds but will look it up. Ok i am done with this post lol. If anyone else wants to comment on how dumb it all sounds be my guest :-) I am off to start my wonderful day and will look into some of the suggestions here !! Thanks
  • Okay so I CAN set mfp to vary !!! I did pay for premium. Just trying to figure it all out on here!
  • I am unaware of it too but if you look at people who plateau I find it very interesting the methods they use to get going again. Its fine I will just try and adjust things as I see fit and will eventually figure out how my body responds. I was just curious if people have had more success varying their calorie intake vs…
  • Exactly but we CAN purposely affect and change our metabolism! Okay so forget about tricking as you know what I mean!!!! I guess i should say purposely altering! We can do this by changing our body mass increasing exercise and by changing our caloric intake for example! Thats my point! Would our metabolism be more revved…
  • Yes i did and its fine if you disagree! My question was just asking if you stick to your daily set limit on mfp! For those who fluctuate it I was wondering how they do it and how it has worked for them! I didnt really need sarcastic comments.
  • Really so you have the same metabolism rate since birth then ? Did you know increased muscle mass speeds metabolic rate ? Decreased caloric intake slows it ? Being a bigger person increases it vs being a smaller person which is why bigger people have higher caloric needs
  • Lol you do not know me! Nice try
  • Yes you are missing something! Going back to my original question....mfp sets your daily calories to eat every day .... do you guys fluctuate from that to try and work better with your metabolism (since you dont like the word tricked) ? Or do you consistently go by your daily calories as set on mfp ? I am switching over…
  • Its just an interesting book. Its a fact that eating less calories slows your metabolism. Extreme dieters will majorly screw themselves over and gain all their weight back and then some. They end up bigger than when they started because of what they have done to their metabolism! Thats why slow and steady weight loss wins…
  • Not really! Just trying to be funny and its not. If you look up how metabolism works during weight loss you would know what I mean ! Read the book the obesity code. Your body tries to maintain thats why our metabolism changes..slower and faster! If you always eat at 1300 cals for example your metab will slow down and so…
  • You guys your body senses weight loss and when you are eating a reduced calorie diet to lose weight your metabolism slows down! Its a protective mechanism so yes you can trick it by not staying the same everyday. That way it helps your metabolism stay revved! I was asking how you guys do this but sounds like you stay the…
  • I had high trig and LDL and have put it all back to normal limits on weight watchers which is fairly low sugar! Went from 270 to 212 and its normal now! Still have about 60 to go! Its amazing how diet change can reverse these!
  • Its overwhelming but all the lil accomplishments will add up in the long run! Thats the only way!
  • Intetesting! Thanks for the replies! I will look into those suggestions!
  • Thanks guys. I have been so excited to be so close to my 50lb loss. This is just annoying !
  • Stats i started at 270lbs last september on weight watchers. I lost 45lbs and am currently at 225lbs. Still a ways to go. ..I switched to mfp this past week for a change from pts. I was actually diwn on scale until the other day shot up 2lbs. I set up mfp to lose 1.5lb per week and chose lightly active. It gave me daily…
  • 1360 is my daily goal because i am lightly active. I earned extra calories by walking etc which was measured on my fitbit. I weigh and measure everything i put in my mouth. Very good at that. I lost 45lbs in past 8 months on weight watchers. Yes i have been eating back some of my fitness calories as my daily average intake…
  • I weigh in mornings every day. I fluctuate within about 0.6lbs from day to day this was high.
  • I have had a hysterectomy but have my ovaries. I dont know when my time of month is. I am 41 years old.
  • I have been on weight watchers and lost 45 pounds in past 8 months. I was getting tired of points so switched to try my fitness pal. This was my first week on it. My daily goal was set for 1360 as i chose lightly active. I earned extra calories by doing lots of hilly walking and it registered on my fitbit. With the fitbit…
  • Get a fit bit. This will give you yoir calories burned for the day. Calculate your BMR as well and you will see what you burn in a day without doing any activity. These are guides. Mfp already set a calori deficit for you based on the info you entered about yourself ....how active you are...your weight and your weight loss…
  • Oh yes for sure. For me ..my exercise is walking so for example I just got back from a 3km walk with some hills. I dont work right now so other than going for walks I am at home sedentary / light. I dont do vigorous training and if i did i certainly would be eating more. Today my 3k walk added 200 calories to my day to…
  • Thanks. Yes i realize this is not ww. I have religiously tracked on ww past 7.5 months so its a big change for me. Just want to make sure i am starting this out right. I read many articles on why you shouldnt eat your exercise burned calories so just trying to understand the design of this program. I def dont want to lose…
