Hey lovelies! Sounds like quite a few of us are somehow having a bad week! I haven't run for a few days now :'( but I got myself a new pair of shoes (cause my other pair I use for hike just wasn't helping with my knees), so I intend to make time sometime today to get back on track! I must! Let's encourage each other to…

Gosh, what a day you had. Have you been getting out for your walks? Walking in a park with the smell of peppermint drops sounds like an awesome plan. :) I'm going to try to sleep earlier today. I signed up for some early races so I need to start conditioning myself to get up at 4am to reach my races by 5am. Hopefully it…

@WickAndArtoo yeah. It takes a lot of discipline. I didn't go in the end, though I did get out for a work meeting. I'm going to try again today. :)

Oh girls, I'm having a terrible day. :'( Struggling with sleep is a terrible thing. Just when I thought I was getting better, I couldn't sleep till 4 in the morning last night (okay, my fault really because I was watching the Manchester United game till 1am). But when these late sleeps happen, I wake up and then get panic…

@WickAndArtoo thanks for the empathy. Yeah, I'll get over it. I suppose it's a good thing it came out - at least I know I still have some work to do with forgiving her. @rebruce449 keep going with your walks! You're doing great! @sandiikat how have you been Hun? Doing alright?

@WickAndArtoo the hike went we'll! We covered something like 10km I think. Though the downward steps were really bad on the knees. I unfortunately didn't keep the photos in my phone, but I have one on insta. I'm at claireariela if anyone else is on insta, let's connect! I had a little bit of a meltdown tonight after a…

@WickAndArtoo somehow my text didn't post. But anyway, what I meant to say was that I'm slowly weaning myself toward 10pm. :) it will take some time, but I think if I plan activities that I love for the next day (instead of fearing and dreading something), sleeping generally gets easier. ;) I've planning a hike for…

@rebruce449 Yes! I saw! Awesome! This is where we should dramatically quote some motivational passé thing like "a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step" or something like that. XD So happy for you! You did it! :) Think happy thoughts!

Hi hi. There's a hypothyroid group that you can check out here. :) the people are pretty nice and open. I'd recommend you to get out and walk and try to choose to think happy thoughts! It will help! :)

"One day" never comes babe! I don't know about you, but I recently discovered that I have a very long "one day" list of things that I really want to do but never did... Some which have been on the list for more than a decade! But what they become when they are not fulfilled is guilt or regret.... Which is an irritating…

Yeah. Today I've also decided to go cold turkey on my teas and coffees. I think I'll only stick to floral or fruit teas without caffeine. I had my normal Chinese tea today and a coffee yesterday, and both times my muscles tensed up and I started feeling anxious. I don't know if anyone else has those feelings too. But yep,…

Yeah, one thing that happens is to have problems sleeping at night. I have been having problems sleeping till 4, and sometimes 5 in the morning. I sometimes wake up at 9 out of guilt or 12 if I don't really bother for the day. But what that means is a sleep deficit if I wake up earlier (which will mess with my hormones),…

Hey Hun. Just wanted to say thank you for sharing your personal story. Depression can be a really terrible thing. It's terrible how big and negative it can feel sometimes. Glad to hear you're off your meds and doing much better. I majored in psychology and was always very skeptical of the use of drugs to control…

Hey Hun, will you be trying the whole30? I encourage you to surround yourself with positive people too. :) it's hard at first, but try to get out for walks. Having a good and positive mental attitude will help you. :) I'd encourage you not to focus so much on weight loss, but more on your fitness and health (both physical…

Hello everyone! Prayed for you guys this morning that your mood will perk up a little and that you'll find opportunities for some happy exercise today! Even if it's just a walk! I have a gathering tonight so I'm going to squeeze in my run/workout before that! :) what are you all up to?
-
@_nikkiwolf_ thanks! I will check them out! I've decided to commit to a series of 3 progressive 5K, 10K and 21K runs over the course of the rest of the year, so I will need it! :)

Mental illness is not as big a beast as the world paints it. It's important to recognize it and really spend time to deal with the root issues (which are often painful or bring a lot of hurt and anger), but with some willpower and discipline, and a thankful heart, you will slowly realize that you're a lot bigger and…

I suppose I was only subclinical-hypothyroid (which could have caused the little depression) so it was probably an easier target for my body to rebalance. I'm a firm believer in the power of the mind (I'm sure we've all heard testimonies of people who were given X months to live and ended up living for years simply because…

@taltakumi It's a 30-day lifestyle/diet that cuts out a lot of products and foods that are known to cause inflammations in the body. Then afterward reintroducing one item at a time to see what you might be "allergic" to that's causing problems in your body. It's a bit like a variant of Paleo. There are a lot of resources…

Is that on the "Mapmyrun" app? I've been looking for a good training programme to train for a run-walk 21k by Nov (thought that was the most realistic target). Does anyone have any suggestions?
-
Hi there, I'm a total beginner. ☺️ Haven't been running for ages and just started again. Longest run I've done was a 10k (maybe 5 years ago?) and I hope to do a 21k at the end of the year. Been looking out for encouragement buddies and training programmes for beginners. Sorry for the noob-ness.

True for the first few weeks. I suppose it wouldn't be too good because she's on a time crunch. Perhaps diet changes may help? @allisonander11 , I guess unless you're in some competitive sport where weight is pretty important for grouping, body fat and inches lost actually may be a better indicator than weight alone. :)
-
From my humble understanding ☺️, it helps to switch up your workouts. Try high intensity if you haven't yet. The insanity workout or some of the freeletics ones are really good.

I had subclinical hypothyroidism for a while (discovered it cause I had all the symptoms of lethargy, dry skin, hair loss, unexplained weight gain...). I freaked out a little because they gave me some meds (and I hate meds!) so I tried the Whole30 diet which was actually pretty good for me to get me off meds. Have to…

I need to lose 15 kilos! (Which is about 33 pounds I think?) doing this to get back to competitive sport after 10 years of running away from it >_< (long story). Let's support and encourage one another! xoxo

There's a quote that goes "you're one workout away from a happier day". I think I've been struggling with mild depression for quite a while. I slept so much to hide away from the world, it was terrible. The best thing my girlfriends have done was to encourage me to just get out and move. You don't have to sprint, you don't…
