Thanks, I found some websites which explained it as you have said. Stop eating added sugars but also sugar forms like honey, maple syrup... I am also still eating rye bread which has a tiny amount of sugar

Just wrote a long post and deleted it doh! I think you need to eat prior to your walk, either your lunch or a sugary/carby snack to stop the glucose level dropping

I buy ready made 'for goodness shakes' and think they taste milky rather than sweet, the also do a protein water which I have not tried (in UK, asda and waitrose)
