If you're referring to condensed milk in cans, the main ingredient in there is still cows milk. The amount of hormones that is absorbed in the human body is not known and there's not enough research to show the effects of hormones from food consumption, but there certainly is a link between dairy and hormone sensitive…

Guess I should've worded it better. I'm mainly referring to the artificially flavored vanilla/fruit yogurts with tons of added sugar in them. Bad gut bacteria thrives when it's exposed to a lot of sugar which decreases the effectiveness of the probiotics/good bacteria. Some of it still may be absorbed, but not as much as…

Although some of the things I said might not be entirely true, I doubt everything I learned in nutrition school is "false". A lot of the information I provided is based on scientific evidence: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26258087 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/27837978…

It's a slippery slope. One of the main reasons dairy is bad is because it's chalk full of hormones especially non-organic varieties. The process of homogenization makes it easier for the fat molecules to surpass digestion, which causes steriods/hormones from dairy to get absorbed into the bloodstream more readily than…

Every day was bad for my mental health, so I've changed it to a once a week kinda thing.

I've stopped for 3 days and I'm already paying the price. I don't think taking a break is worth it unless you know how to control your intake without counting calories. If you're an all-or-nothing person like me, I don't recommend it.

My goal is to basically do a recomp and slowly gain some muscle over a long period of time. I've been in maintenance for several months now, but I've actually gone below my goal weight. Add to that the fact that I've been getting comments from family that I'm a little too thin, which only gave me a bigger excuse to binge.…

Yes, I'm currently taking Floradix liquid iron, but I haven't noticed an improvement in my energy levels. Doesn't help that my B12 levels are nonexistent. Heavy monthlies and years of an unhealthy vegan diet probably contributed to my problem. I used to make my own version of a caffeine free latte which consisted of…

I found out I'm very anemic a few months ago, but didn't think my eating habits could play a role. It kinda ties into my cravings for some odd food combinations too. I'll definitely look into healthier alternatives. Thanks for bringing this up.

I've went as far as taking the box of treats out of the carts while shopping with them only to see it magically reappear at home. I've also asked them to stop, but it hasn't made a difference.

Thanks for the advice. I still live with my parents and they always buy Costco sized boxes of various bars which makes it harder to resist.

No, just eating maintenance calories set as sedentary. I don't eat any exercise calories back which backfired on me since I've developed a binge eating problem that happens a few times a month. I will definitely up my daily calorie intake and recalculate my tdee.

I only do 10 000 steps on my rest days (3x a week). On the days that I work out, I do an hour of cardio combined with weight lifting, but otherwise average closer to 2000-3000 steps outside of the gym.

A cup of cocoa flavored tea helps when I'm craving chocolate especially when I add a dash of unsweetened chocolate almond milk. Comes out at less than 10 calories and is enough to stop the urge to overeat.

I understand your worries regarding additives and chemicals. The reason why I don't have any recommendations for alternatives is because those "high glucose cornstarch" drinks most likely provide you with all the essential vitamins and amino acids your body needs while a shake you make at home would not. I'm no medical…

I decided to weigh myself a few minutes ago. Looks like I've gained 3 pounds. Is it safe to assume that 1.5 pounds of that is water weight?

The most I've ever eaten in a day is 6000 calories and I felt like I was seconds away from rupturing my stomach before I stopped. With the stomach issues I have, I think I'd be hospitalized at 10, 000. I honesty don't know how those YouTube people do it. There's nothing healthy about it!

Story time! I managed to go 30 days without added/processed sugar last year. Eating out was impossible and shopping for groceries was a pain. Something as simple as marinara sauce, bacon or pickles contained sugar. I researched synonyms for sugar which was hidden in seemingly healthy products like dextrose, maltose..…

I've been in maintenance for the past 2 years and I've been doing IF the whole time. I alternate between 20:4 and 18:6 most days of the week. I fast for 24 hours once a week. If I get hungry outside of my eating window, I drink lots of tea or water. I find I'm a lot less likely to eat mindlessly and snack on junk when I…
